Xbox 360 all the way. One good thing is that DLC comes faster.

Better online system, better friends system, easier connectivity, more people.

Perfect for Rockband, and, well, any other game.

I bought a PS3 just for RockBand. I keep playing it because of the free online setup, amazing downloadable games, and amazing exclusive games.

I did out the math, and for me at least, it was cheaper to get the $500 PS3, because I would have wanted the Elite with an HD-DVD player and Xbox Live (which is a recurring cost).

Don't get the 40 gig.

At the moment GH guitars work with the 360 version and not the PS3, so if you want a 4 player band soon then 360 is the way to go. Of course extra strats will be available in the near future and PS3 has free online play. If you already have both systmes the 360 is probably the best bet for RB right now. If you're looking to buy a system specifically to play RB on, then you should research the other games on both systems to see which one will be the better choice for you long term. I personally prefer the 360, but PS3 does have some pretty good looking games coming out next year.
