Xbox Wireless Guitar acting like I press Xbox Button every coule minutes

After 3 weeks working fine, by Xbox 360 Guitar Hero Wireless Guitar Controller has developed a problem. It keeps acting like I hit the Xbox Guide Button every couple minutes (even though I don't press it). I rarely get though a song without it bringing up the guide like I pressed the button. All of the other buttons work fine. Even when the console is off, the controller acts like I keep pressing it and will actually turn on the console. I have to take the batteries out when I turn the console off so it doesn't turn on randomly.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of this issue? It's made the controller utterly useless. My other guitar and drum set works fine.

Sounds to me like an electrical short inside the guitar. You could try opening it up and checking the connections from that button to the PCB, but best option would probably just be to RMA it if you're still within the 60 day Warranty period.
