Other thread is cluttered with people not reading anything other than the first post, so I'm setting up the poll here.

HERE are the LOCKS for next round

Queensryche
The Who
Sonic Youth
Alice Cooper
Deep Purple
Run-D.M.C.
David Bowie
Alice in Chains
Pearl Jam

You're voting on the next 7.

Why did you lock down Queensryche, Run-D.M.C., Alice in Chains, and Pearl Jam before any of the bands on the list above?

ROCKBANDFANATIC7526

I was wondering why Bowie was there myself.

Now, this is a valid question. I don't really like any band in this list myself. Sorry Fizz :o

Yeah, how has not one person mentioned Pink Floyd yet? They should definitely be included in this.

Queensryche was locked down out of extreme bias from me.
Pearl Jam was on the first list and only removed for Michael Jackson.
Run-D.M.C. was locked down because I wanted one hip-hop group.
Alice in Chain's was locked down, because I figured they'd be good to have.

I'm not even sure anyone mentioned them in the other thread.

What bias? ;)

Although I do not expect much songs after Promised Land to be in the top 5

I may throw in Jet City Woman there

There are a couple good tracks from O:MC II and a couple from American Soldier (A Dead Man's Words being my favorite from the album) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJ7yiMgv22w&feature=related) just expect their earlier work to get more songs picked

I still have no clue how the Rolling Stones didn't make it onto any of these polls. I don't even like them an awful lot, but really?

Dante1847

Really??

this is partly in response to aschiz's earlier comments toward mine...I get that opinion of bands is a factor, but I still maintain that personal preferences is a secondary consideration. for example: a lot of ppl hate on U2, but Id wager a lot of those same ppl would also agree U2 should have a best-of feature on merits alone.

and Im with A_C....it is a crime that The Rolling Stones does not make an appearance yet. And I am not the greatest Stones fan.

What seven bands should be in the next best song bracket? (multi-choice)

so, it's the top 7 bands in the poll that make the cut

With VU can we double it up with Lou Reed's solo career?

They both kind of go hand-in-hand and I really want to put "Perfect Day" in my top 5.
