My wife sings every word, in key, on pitch. She may not 100% every song on expert, but she can do every song on hard and most songs on expert.


I've noticed that there's different types of singers in rockband

1) The "must get high score" singer who will hum, falsetto, change octaves mid-song or do whatever they can to get the 'score'

2) The it must be the game/mic/tv cause I can sing for realssss singer who can't get past medium. They refuse to believe they aren't a great singer and usually have long winded posts about how the game doesn't truly grade your ability to sing blah blah blah.

3) The sing super quietly and breathy so they hit the pitches, but noone can tell what the hell they are doing

4) The i'm going to jump around and make stupid noises and hope people laugh and think it's funny because there's no way in hell I can actually sing this stuff. (funny for a few songs, gets old real quick)

5) The rest of us who just sing what they can, practice, get better, and keep playing... just like any other instrument.

Like I said.. for every 50 people who swear they can sing and that the game won't recognize it...

I watch people I know personally who can sing thier asses off blow away songs on expert, actually singing them. Many of whom have no idea how the Rock Band video game works.. so they just karaoke the song.

First of all, for those that know that you can really sing, not those that think you can sing. My advice to you is to put aside all assumptions with this game. It is purely technical. If you try and put in things you would normally do, as a pro vocalist, it will actually hurt your score. Same thing with drums. I'm working on the achievements now, and I find myself doing double kicks when the note chart only calls for single.

I personally believe I can't sing for crap, but I pay NO attention to the pitch arrow, just sing it as I hear it and do fine on hard (expert on a couple songs like Soundgarden and RHCP. stuff I know well)
