Director Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind & Science of Sleep) is probably at the top of the list for music videos. He did most of the White Stripes videos and almost all of Bjork's. He's done a few for Chemical Brothers but his best one (at least in my opinion) is the greatest music video I have ever seen.

Just pay attention to how seamless it is. Nature's landscape matches the beat, and all Gondry does is edit the footage to make it loop and play around with it to match the music. It's genius.
