..and this is on the tail end of a hangover too (company christmas party was last night)

it took me a REAL long time to figure out how to beat Run to the Hills, but in the end it turns out the instruments were reversed somewhat.

what i mean is.. its great that the snare drum is always on the left, ensuring that it'll be hit by the left hand which is standard in drumming. it always did bother me a little that it wasn't the 2nd one in from the left though, as the "open stance" required to play this game doesn't match up exactly with the crossed stance of hihat left/snare right.

well, the way the percussion is arranged in this song, where the snare would normally hit (to my own internal rhythm anyway) is on the yellow pad.

i spent so long trying to hit R(red)/L(red)/R(red), R(red)/L(red)/R(yellow) in the main part of the rhythm, but I just couldn't keep up. I'd just trip, desynch, and fail the song.

But by crossing arms and hitting the yellow with my left stick, even though I'd miss a lot of the red notes, it was still enough to stay afloat and finish the song. I think I had a 127 note streak, probably from the intro, maybe 75% total notes hit.

I'm tempted to go back and try to beat it the "right way", but not right now.

Dude, the right way is to play with both hands on the red and then drop your right over to the yellow when necessary... like when you watch a drummer ride the high hat with both hands and drop to the snare... you shouldn't be playing all of the red notes with one hand ;) But if you pulled it off crossed up then wow... just wow...

Wait till you get to it on Expert :(

did you even read what i wrote? :)

in case i wasn't clear, L means left stick and R means right stick.
