Dongle compatibility

Okay, so I got the PS3 wireless Strat in a trade on Gamezone but it didn't come with the dongle.

I know that with RB2 on the PS3 pretty much all the guitars are compatible, but what about the dongles? Will the dongle from one guitar work i.e. GHWT, work with the wireless Strat?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm quite sure a dongle from GH:WT will not work on a RB Strat.

I'm not even sure a RB1 dongle will work with a RB2 guitar or vice versa. I could be wrong, perhaps Mr. Socal knows for sure.

Thanks for the info, it's much appreciated. I do know that an RB1 dongle won't work with an RB2 strat, but thought maybe one of th GH ones might.

Welcome to the Rockband Forums Hoolio.

Just to confirm.

No GHWT Guitar dongles work with any RB Strats.

Beatles Guitar dongles and Gray RB2 Strat Dongles are indeed interchangable and Black RB1 dongles are only usable with RB1 strats.

Thanks for the info Doc. Just discovered it's actually an RB1 strat, not the RB2. Kind of got raped in that trade; it was supposed to be an RB2 strat. At least now I know which dongle I need.

No problemo, I am always on the lookout for any rockbander.

There are lots of these on eBay.

Looks like 20 bucks shipped is about the best deal.

The 17.95 guy is even better but I have never seen an RB1 dongle with the while graphics before. Might be fine but you know how eBay goes....

Buyer beware, ask questions and never assume.

But thats a topic for another place and probably another forum alltogether.
