If you are having a bad day or if anything is getting you down, I highly suggest that you read this so you know that you're not the only one.
It all started on day in May 2007. I was surfing the web and found out about a game called Rock Band. Saw and read about it then went to YouTube. I saw the welcome tothe Jungle Video and I was the most excited kid in the world at that exact moment. I could not wait for Rock Band.
At the time, they said it would be released in North America on the 6th of November. About half a year to wait. Great. Now what. I know... I'll wait for 6 months!!!
Over the next couple months, the release date was shifting between th 6th and the 20th. It was soon settled that the 20th it was. That was changed to the 23rd only to be changed back days later. It is September now and I'm in school, thinking the wait would go by a little more fast. Not so true.
I waited and waited. Finally, the next best thing came out. Guitar Hero 3. I bought 2 PS3 versions (for 2 guitars) and 1 PS2 version. Beat it twice on expert the day I got it. about a week into November, It was official. Rock Band wasn't coming out in my country (Canada) until the 17th.
By this time I was enraged. I called my brother whe lives in the states to see if he could get one. As busy as he was, he forgot. I called him and called him but couldn't get ahold of him. Finally, the 24th of November, I decided to buy one off Amazon. Of course .ca didn't have them and .com didn't ship to Canada. Just my luck...but read on. I knew i wouldn't get one off of Amazon so i typed in 7 magical characters - ebay.ca. I bidded and bidded, 210 being my tops on most of them.
On the 26th of November, I finally won an auction screaming "I got Rock Band, I got Rock Band" for about twenty minutes and running in circles clenching my head. I was even more excited than when I first heard about it. That excitement was destroyed only minutes later. My brother phoned. He had 2 on hold. He would one day ship one the next day. "Sorry," I said, I just bought one off ebay." Of course I was trying to make him feel bad for not calling me or anything. But Karma soon hit me back.
It was shipped on th 28th. With my UPS tracking number, i could see where it was going. Florida to Kentucky to Oregon, to Michigan, to Winnipeg, back to Michigan, back to Winnipeg, back to Michigan, back to Winnipeg, back to Michigan, and then back to Winnipeg. Finally it went to Calgary then to Edmonton. All was good, and I would be getting Rock Band on the 3rd of December. Not true.
They lost my package. I had to wait 10 days to do anything. The tenth day when I poned them, "oh...we just misplaced in our warehouse. I was ****ed. 10 days for that?
After hearing the good news, they assured us, we would have it by Friday. Of course we didn't. So we contacted UPS. Oh...it won' be here anytime this weekend they said. So I yelled at them on the phone a little, making me feel just that much better. Next Wednesday (December 19th) it arrived. I had a big beaten up box which had appeared to be Rock Band. I oppened it, set up got ready to play but there was a slight problem. The game. They dropped the game somewhere. I still couldn't play it. By that time, the Canadian release date was pushed back again to the 28th. Contacted the seller and UPS. Everybody was ****ed at UPS. Even UPS.
I contacted my brother again to try that out (still hasn't got back to me) and started phoning. YES!! just tonight, I found a place in West Edmonton Mall selling PS3 Rock Bands and the set with just the game! I phoned them and phoned them to try to hold one but they wouldn't. That provoked me to travel the 1 hour plus "road trip" to go get it. By then, I had my mind made up. I din't want just the game, I wanted another special edition. I got there only to be more upset to what bestowed my eyes. A Rock Band bundle for 500$ Give me a break. I passed up the offer, and went home.
Now here I am without the Rock Band software, wondering when my dream of playing rock band will ever come true. Maybe the 28th?Who knows. With my luck probably not. All I can do is hope. Thanks for reading. And maybe now you realize that by comparison, you are not having a bad day.
