Now, I'm not talking about something like Amazing Grace, but there is some good Christian Rock out there, just look at guys like TobyMac. There is also some good country with good guitar and drums as well. I think there would be a lot of people that would download it. Hey, someone from Harmonix said they were doing just about every genre, so why not?

On an unrelated note, the theme to CSI (Who Are You by the Who) would be a nice song to include too. ;)

Country will happen MUCH sooner than Christian Rock. Plus, the CMT logo was on quite a few of the promotional materials.

Yes. Country would be a nice change. Too much "bubble gum punk" keeps getting released. As for christian, I'm not familiar enough with it to agree.

2 Questions.

1. How long have you been playing any musical Game? EX: Guitar Hero Series, Rock Band, etc.

2. They NEVER Have an Update to Add Songs to forcfully have you play them. And if they did (i dont know why) you'd never have to play them, unless you were online and the host picked it. So What makes you think that you'd be forced to play them?

People, Please have some common Sense.

Rascal Flatts would be my Suggestion for Rock Band. Best Country Band Ever. Right Next to Montgomery Gentry.

First of all, you don't have to be a jerk.

I was referring to any future versions of the games to please not have the crap that is country. You're pretty much stating the obvious.

To answer your first question, I've been playing since GH1's release.

Im Not Being a Jerk.

And you didnt say that on your first post, so technically you were stating this game, as an update.

Did you Ever have a problem Playing "The Devil Went down to Georgia" Did ya??

Its a Country song... and its a song you had to play in Guitar Hero 3.

Frankly, I didn't care for it. Even after it had been re-done as a metal song.

Anyway, to divert from the rampant trolling....
I'm not the biggest fan of the genres, but I could get into some Johnny Cash or some Allison Kraus. Maybe some of the more blue grass based stuff as well. Thats where the real talent lies in country. As far as Christian goes, the only stuff I've heard that I could really get into was some ska (Five Iron Frenzy, etc.), which rock band couldn't really do justice to without some really interesting additional controllers. Anyway, just two cents from someone who tries to listen to whatever is good regardless of genre.

The good thing is, if they come out with a country one, you wouldn't HAVE to buy it. Not all of us have access to the DLC. :s

I would buy both Country and Christian as those are the 2 most listened two types of music in our house, I bought the RockBand with the songs and we play it because that's all that's available, but I would jump VERY quickly on a Country and/or Christian versions.

And yes CMT has been promoting it and asking what songs their listeners would like on a country version if one was released, so maybe something is already in the works. :)

Bottom line, just because you don't listen to a certain genre of music doesn't mean people won't buy it. I don't listen to rock but bought Rockband because of the game.

I could see a country DLC or maybe a country version happening but I dont think it would sell well simply because I do not think most videogame players are into country music. I would have nothing against it though I wouldn't buy it (country's not my cup of tea)

As for a christian rock version..i think it has a snowball's chance in hell, sure I can see a couple tracks from popular band coming out (Demon Hunter and POD come to mind) but i think they would'nt be labled as something like "Christian DLC Pack 01" IMO religion and politics should be kept out of videogames

If there was going to be some Christian DLC, my vote would be for some Crowder. There's some great guitar lines on "A Collision" and "Illuminate." A song like "You are my Joy" or "Revolutionary Love" would be awesome.

TDWDTG Guitar Hero 3 version is not country it's heavy metal

Really?

Then, please explain this:
"The Devil Went Down to Georgia" is a country song written and performed by the Charlie Daniels Band and released on their 1979 album Million Mile Reflections.

I never Mentioned Anything about the Guitar Hero 3 Version, all i said was, The Devil Went Down To Gerogia is a Country Song.

I agree with m.j.caboose, Relient K, Jars of Clay, or Hillsong would be awesome.
I'm not a big fan of country, but a lot of people are, so Harmonix could please the masses.

Sounds like maybe you need to do some growing up yourself if you can't understand this is a public forum for those to discuss their views weather they like something, or not. I respect someone's right to listen whatever they want, but I have the right to express my view that the type of music should NOT be in the game.

I could see a country DLC or maybe a country version happening but I dont think it would sell well simply because I do not think most videogame players are into country music.

In this statement, I would say you are sorely mistaken. While I love rock/punk/metal, I listen to more country music than anything. I grew up banging my head to Metallica/Megadeth/Sabbath/Zepplin throughout the 80's, but also learned to appreciate country music.

That being stated, I don't think there is a large enough demand to warrant a separate game. I believe pigeonholing a game release to one genre of music would doom it's sales. However if HMX was able to designate a small team to toss out some occasional country DLC, I think the downloads would be extremely lucrative.

I think most Expert guitar players in RB or GH games would cry at some accurately charted Brad Paisley riffs. That man can pick a guitar.

Oh...and whoever said that Rascall Flats is good, I must digress. They're a country boy band for the love of god! Montgomery Gentry however, does in fact, kick ass! :)

That is completely ridiculous. How could it "ruin" the game? You are not required to buy/download or play it in general. How could it possibly harm you in any way to expand the game in any manner such as this?

How childish!

Oh...riiiiiight. I keep forgetting...

Also not called "Metal Band" or "Rock/Rap Band"

so you lose, rock as in what they were saying is music to rock out too, and you can do that with all genres of music.

Country gets a bad rap. Todays country is more like rock so I don't see what the big deal is. I personally like country so it would be a great addition for me. Even some older stuff with fiddles can be changed, look at Devil went down to Georgia in Guitar Hero 3!

POD would be a happy middle I think. The message is there and so is the distortion. It's no Jeff Deyo but its a start. As far as Country goes, I'm sure if it was available i'd download it. I already have 90 songs and i got the game the day it released in Canada.

i dont think harmonix would want to waste money on putting country n christian up for DLC because not many people would buy it
and theres is mississippi queen in rock band thats country rock
just live on that for another country rock song to come out
and wanted dead or alive is also country rock i believe
