Wait till this weeks DLC is showing up in the PSN Store, then try again.

As of high noon on the west coast, this weeks DLC does NOT show up yet.
I don't understand why... the PSN Store is just a front for accessing the downloads that are already on their servers. The In-Game Music Store has been updated and accesses the files on the PSN just fine. My code has never been used and therefore is "valid"

I entered my code at www.rockband.com/lego-export and it said the code entered couldn't be found.:eek:

It really stinks to wait a week and now have this happen!:mad::mad:

Are you entering zeros and naughts? (Os as 0s)?

The PlayStation Store content has to be updated before the codes can work. The content maybe available on the music store but that content is actually located on a different server. The code system has to be updated in the store itself before they can work. When the psStore is fully updated then they should work. If you look in the add on content for Rock Band itself the content is still from last week on back. Have patience ... sometimes the store takes a while to update.

1) Who cares which system I have? 360 users had the exact same problems. It started off with us explaining that we had the same issues and offering suggestions as to how to handle it. Yet some people just kept plugging merrily along ignoring advice...and surprise had the exact same problems.

2) The bigger reason for the sigh was that we already have a thread for this discussion. And the OP posted in it (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showpost.php?p=3243559&postcount=424). Then waited all of a minute and decided he should just open a brand new thread.

on the www.rockband.com/lego-export page keep entering the code. It finally worked. I tried both upper and lowercase. The code was excepted when I entered it in lowercase. I don't know if it matters???

Mine says invalid too, I sent them an email but IM sure they wont respond since this seems to be more widespread. I hope they fix it soon or we just got some bum codes.

well .. me and T have gone 'roun and 'round a few times ... but this time I gotta totally agree with him.

as has been stated MANY times, the actual export/download is just probably not ready yet.

if you were able to get your code ... that's step 1 and thats cool.
when you hear others have started DOWNLOADING the actual export, then you can get crazy if yours doesn't work.

at this point, i don't think anyonhas gotten it yet, so it apparently isn't ready yet.

The music store is just the link you are clicking that gets you to the content stored on the PSN. The content is the same. Sony just hasn't put up there own "links" yet

I'm sick and tired of people assuming that everyone and their mother should automaticaly know the in's and out's of everything and how it works.
Website says '11/12' which it is today. Code went through and I got a code. There was no time specified as to when I could get the download. I only know about the PSN time release as I've been around here for ages and know how things work, but not everyone is as well informed.

Yeah... and people need to WAIT until the PSN Store has been updated, which it hasn't. Hopefully when you actually see and are able to purchase the new DLC from the PSN STORE, we will be able to redeem our codes. Just be patient.

There are a few users who have gotten it working. However, this is exactly the same as what happened last week for the 360.

Once the site went live, a few 360 owners got their codes to work and downloaded the pack. This was how we started seeing info regarding the nature of the download and the appearance in RB2.

However, I can speak from experience that even that night there were still some hiccups with the process. I was not able to get my code to work until the following day. But without doing anything different than just entering the code, I was able to start the process and now everything works hunky doory.

Since by your very definition those people would not be using these forums, they wouldn't be helped much by anything that gets said here anyway.

This same problem happened with Pearl Jam's Backspacer. The codes were sent out but didn't go "Live" on Sony's systems until they refreshed their servers late at night that Thursday. Even then, I was forced to completely clear the cache in my router and my cable modem in order for the code refresh to work. I was hoping that HMX and Sony would have learned from that little issue back then, but it looks like they haven't. So you will just need to wait until tomorrow, and when you do try it tomorrow make sure you clear out your cache in your router/modem so that when it does refresh you'll access that refreshed server.

I could understand if somebody TRIED using the search function, but when you see a new thread about an issue and the very next thread below it is a thread of 10+ pages already discussing it, it's frustrating having to repeat yourself over and over again.

How do you think some of the more regular forum users know some of the stuff they do? It's because when they didn't, they searched for the answers...and now they know from experience.

Correct. Just unplug it from the network and power connection, let it sit for a minute or so, then plug it back in. It will go through the re-boot process and then be back to normal.

I get this ratio from the many, many websites I frequent. Youtube, Gamefaqs, rock band, GH, etc.. Far too much nonsense and not enough actual help. Obviously this is a made up figure and not one I came to as a result of some survey I comissioned.

Not everyone is internet savvy. Not everyone has time or the ability to learn how to use all the various functions.
Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather take 2 minutes to answer a post, be it repeaded or not, than spend that same 2 minuted going off on one.

Would you? I've had to unplug/plugin my router numerous times...but my Wii, 360, and 2 PCs never had a problem reconnecting to it. (The 360 and one PC are hardlined right into it...the other two are wireless)

Not sure. Just going off what they told me.

I'm not 100% sure but I'm in my network settings everytime my router decides not to work since I had to reset it. I don't think a disconnect/reconnect counts as a reset so the same settings will probably work. I've only had wireless interent since 12/08 so I'm still green at it.

Hell, I could never get GameStop's website to give me a valid redemption code, so I said screw it.

And this was AFTER I contacted EA about receiving an invalid redemption code. They sent me a new one and that one didn't work either.

Sony's always updating that.

The store itself hasn't been updated. So, until the update goes live, we probably won't see the export.

Still doesn't explain why Sony doesn't have it ready. They were smart enough to have the AC/DC export ready (and that initially launched on a Sunday).

Though, frankly, LRB is probably the closest RB to BH that exists...only it has extra Lego-y goodness baked right in!

It won't work till PSN updates. It still doesn't have the DLC up for this week, so, its looks like a long wait.

Wait for the freaking PSN store to update like everyone else. Chances are the content of those codes is being added with everything else, and thus you are getting an error.

What I find interesting is that there's no information in their Knowledge Base in regards to this error code. I'm trying to figure out what exactly it means.

The problem is that everyone has run out of patience. It's bad enough that we had to wait 9 days to even get export codes. Now, the day is here, and the majority of us want nothing more than for Sony to get off their collective lazy asses and update the damn store already so that we can export the songs.

It's already bad enough that someone dropped the ball (don't know if it's Sony or Harmonix. At this point it doesn't matter) and PS3 owners were unable to export at launch, fueling the ever residual feelings that PS3 owners will always play second fiddle to 360 owners, at least in dealings with Harmonix. So, to sit here and tell people to continue to be patient when their patience has already run out is just going to piss people off even more than they already are.

Nope. I'm not taking any chances. Not even going to ENTER my code on the web page, until I hear a report of success from someone else. I don't want to risk that doing so before its "live" will screw something up and render my code useless.

Agree with prior posts -- grow some patience. (It's a 1.2 GB download -- even after its up, buckle up for a long download wait).

They have plenty to deal with themselves with other games, updates, and movies/TV shows to add in, not to mention any maintenance or upgrades to their servers they might need from the recently added Netflix functionality. While I am among those first to admit that the people running the store act as if they're lazy, Rock Band isn't the only game they have.

It's a minor inconvenience at best. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed the game as much had I been able to export it immediately. Take some time and play the game, do something else and come back in a short while to check if the store has updated and try your codes again when it has. I'm honestly doing nothing right now but listening to music and refreshing the store waiting for the new content to show up. I'm not reaching for a torch and pitchfork, though, when it hasn't shown up.

Edit: Scratch that, I'm going to go play RB2 with some people that just invited me. I'll be checking the store when I'm done, and again after my night class if it hasn't shown up before I have to leave for that. That's all assuming the world hasn't ended from it not showing up by then.

Amen. I bought it mainly for the exportability, and found myself playing it natively for many days while waiting for the export key. It was a REALLY good game, quite entertaining and very funny in addition to the great music.

I hope the cheekiness is a sign of things to come in RB3, as well as the gameplay (more gigs, the unlocking, the themes, etc).

That's assuming Sony will feed you data at your cap rate, while 10,000+ other users try to get at today's content. The bottleneck won't be on your end... it'll be on Sony's, which likely has throttles in place per connection to ensure everyone can download.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not attacking you specifically. Your post just set up my argument is all.

This is not the first Thursday I've gotten pissed off with Sony and their updates. What irritates me is that these updates get steadily later and later.

If you're on the west coast, this isn't going to bother you as much. If you're on the east coast (like I am), this later and later timetable will infuriate you. During E3, PSN didn't update until midnight EDT. IMO, that's pathetic.

The real heart of the issue is that there's no consistency from Sony. So, people like me continue to become angrier and angrier with them as a whole.

I work long hours. Rock Band is my weekly treat to myself. I would like to be able to download and play before I have to go to bed tonight.

As for LRB as a game itself, I got bored with it. I have no desire to play it anymore. Not to mention, a lot of my favorite DLC didn't make it through the filter, giving me even less incentive to play it.

But if you read the other thread, we have had HMXHenry explaining that they are just as upset with this delay as we are. So, yes, this is almost all Sony.

And Sony got to be a multi-billion dollar company by staking a claim in just about everything.

Yes, it's available in the RB Store. But it's not available in the PSN store. That almost certainly means that the PSN store hasn't updated yet. I buy songs from there all the time because my Internet connection always dies when I'm in RB store.

And that's another thing that's happened dozens of times.

I don't know WHY the update for the RB Store gets there ahead of the PS Store, but it always does.

All I can think of is that they get the content in place before they start dressing up the storefront, so you can see the content from the RB Store simply because its storefront only changes with the content.

I imagine the PS Store storefront has to be laid out and published, and that's when we get access.

So I'm guessing you can blame all those silly big/medium/small buttons that are used for shortcuts.

It's a shame that Harmonix couldn't host the songs on their own servers and when you redeem your code through their site, it will transfer the songs through their network onto a flash drive that you could then install onto the PS3. Sadly, I don't think Sony would allow that and I don't think there would be a way for HMX to prevent scumbags from just filesharing the export to the other leeches out there.

I think it could actually be done, on some level, since the RB Store storefront is basically a front to the PS Store...front...thingy...

The problem is, there's no capacity for entering codes in the RB Store storefront, probably because it's a separate piece of PSN functionality...you don't enter them in the PS Store storefront either...

Well I got my code, haven't tried redeeming it yet. But I'm wondering, when you redeem it, it says it charges you $10 (the instructions say that). Once it charges you $10, do you go to the in game lego rock band music store? Or does it just start downloading?

Spark, it'll start downloading as soon as you pay.

When you redeem the code, it gives you access to download the export. Once you add to your cart, it'll ask you to add $10 to your wallet if you lack the funds, or it'll subtract the $10 fee and download.

Lame, technically the PSN store HAS been updated because if you search for the White Stripes pack, you can find and purchase it. I have no idea why the lists haven't been updated under New Releases and Track Packs in the PSN store...

Interesting. Kasabian and The Damned songs can be found and downloaded by searching as well. I searched "lego" and "export" and "lego export" and only hit is the old RB1 export key.

I am having the same issue as the OP. I haven't read through this thread yet to see if there is a fix, but yeah, I put in my code that came with my PS3 copy of L:RB and got a redeem code form the export page of this site. Put that code in on my PS3 Redeem codes section, and bam, it tells me the code is invalid, old, or used. WTF? What am I to do? I shot customer support an email, but I'm sure the response time to that will be a millennium. What do we do?

My code doesn't work.

I didn't even retrieve my code until after the DLC was live in the PSN store.

I tried entering my code through the store's code redemption area and received: "An error has occurred. (80023156)."

Lovely. If this is like the Pepsi mess it's going to take at least a week or more for this to get fixed.

I should know by now NEVER to buy any game at launch.

Confirmed -- the PSN store (not the in-game store) now shows this week's DLC without having to search -- it's in the "New Releases" section, and in the Add-Ons section.

My code doesn't work.

I didn't even retrieve my code until after the DLC was live in the PSN store.

Grrrrr.

A tip for people who have problems redeeming the code off the website (not the PSN store but the www.rockband/lego-export)

Allow script to run on everything including google-analytics and facebook. I did that and it worked for me (after saying WTF to my code not working for like 20 times). Yes, I was running firefox + noscript. It didn't accept my code even when I allowed rockband.com

Dunno why but try it and yes I'm aware of people probably gonna flame me 'cause I'm a 1 post user telling them to turn off no-script completely even if it is on the rickband website itself.

Still no luck on PSN redemption code though

At the double and triple checking that the export didn't require the disc, I was advised that I could safely get rid of it. I only bought the game for the songs and have no interest in the Lego stuff.
That was the case AFTER you export (it's the same on RB1, actually). You can safely get it again later, but it seems that the key for the first time is disc only.

So at least I can just borrow someone's Lego Rock Band disc then... after the initial download, I assume the songs remain safely in your download list?
Yeah, they will. RB1 never checks again, and it'd be sorta insane for L:RB to, as you paid for the songs.

On Xbox it's a massive download in your history, so it would be surprising (and dismaying) if it worked differently on PS3.

Make sure you're entering the exact letters and numbers. Also they may be still entering the codes that were redeemed so give it a little time. If it's not working by the morning I'd call someone. (Should be a number on your manual)

I'm getting the exact same thing. I just got off the phone with Sony. They say it's NOT THEIR FAULT and that it's HMX's fault and to contact them. Great...........

I told Sony tech support that I wasn't the only person receiving this error and he said that it was not them. That the code error is coming from the code itself and that the problem lies with the place we obtained the code. In our case, the HMX code redemption site.

i got bounced twice ("An error has occured. (80023156)") while just trying to access the "redeem codes" link on the PS3. 3rd time i got in.

get in , plug in the code .. purchase the key / download the key.

fire up LRB, go to the store, you should then see an "export" link.
click it, download (begins 1.2 gig download).

if you're me (on somewhat crappy dsl) .. you then ... wait.
but the % is going up ... so that's a good sign.

Sony probably just thinks HMX is distributing broken codes. Which may be true. Maybe not. It's be nice to be able to get the product I paid for sometime tonight though.
