yep its Metallica's Black Album. I knew trusted ole' wiki would have it first.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band#Downloadable_content

bookmark it boys and girls!

edit: btw I wonder if we will be able to buy singles as Enter Sandman is already on our in-game tracklist and don't feel we should have to pay 1.99 for it.

Yeah. I looked at the citation and all it states is:

"But wait, there's more. Hoping to toll the bell on its competition, Harmonix revealed the Grammy-winning "Enter Sandman" from Metallica's 1991 Black album will be included in Rock Band's initial lineup shipping with the game. Announced at the end of EA's press conference, Kathy Vrabeck also made mention that a "substantial" number of songs from Metallica's catalog are slated to appear in the game."

So, all this confirms is that there will be a substanial amount of Metallica songs in Rock Band, which we already knew.

I would love for The Black Album to be released too, but I don't believe it will. Good choice for yuor favorite song, Where I May Roam is banging :D. My ultimate guess would be Who's Next.

The PS Store isn't updating at all next week, so the new songs will only be on the 360 version, starting Tuesday. The following week, when the PS Store does its regular Thursday update, they'll be getting a double dosage of new songs. Unless, of course, the PS Store decides to update sometime earlier that next week, which I doubt.

So:

360:
Next Week = New Stuff A
Following Week = New Stuff B

PS3
Next Week = Nothing
Following Week = New Stuff A & New Stuff B

My guess is they drop a ****ton of stuff, just like release week. I think an album, and maybe two packs.

-Who's Next
-GnR Pack (Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, and one other)
-Rolling Stones Pack

I can wish for a Muse pack, but that will probably never be fulfilled.

Shot in the dark - It'll be BOTH Nevermind and Who's Next.

And if a GnR pack comes along with Paradise City, Sweet Child, and Jungle, I'll nut myself.

I'm with most here. I'll bet it'll be Who's Next.

It's obviously not going to be Christmas music since the PS store won't be getting any of the DLC until January 3.

osirisbunnyfoofoo
12-23-2007, 09:32 PM
Either Who's Next or some Christmas stuff. I kind of hope it's the latter, just because it would make Christmas Day that much more awesome. I really think that if it's Who's Next, they would have already announced it. What's the point of having a surprise if it's something everyone already knows about?

12-23-2007, 10:31 PM
My guess is, we'll get Who's Next, a nice Grateful Dead 3 pack, and either a pack or a few songs which are unannounced and unbelievably awesome (Beatles, Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, etc), possibly an entire album.

That'll also probably be the last day we get a super update for a while. It'd be enough, though.

Rock_Starman
12-23-2007, 11:23 PM

I previously wrote that they're going to have a Wham! pack. Last Christmas and Wake Me up before you go go.

Dear lord that would be terrible.

If we're gonna stick with a Christmas Theme then I want TSO! I don't think having an instrumental or two wouldn't be all that horrible.

Other than that I'd like some Megadath or even any old thrash like Toxic Watlz (Exodus), Critcal Mass (Nuclear Assault) & Remember the Fallen (Sodom). But that's wishful thinking.

I'm guessing a three song cheap pack "Dew Breakout 07 Artists" with tracks from The Myriad, Them Terribles and The Material and either the Nevermind or Who's Next albums.

I say Nevermind because it seems like if they want to go for a surprise that they would go for Nevermind over Who's Next because less has been said about it.

I predict a major re-launch of the DLC with a similar amount of content to the original launch. There are going to be a lot of people opening the game within the next few days and it would be a great time to tempt people at all of the family parties while people are off from school/work. Plus, there are a lot of drunken New Year's parties coming up, so the more awesomeosity the better to launch the game beyond the hardcore early adopters. I'd say something like the following:

- One full album (probably Who's Next)
- A Grateful Dead song pack
- A couple of other song packs from bands in the game with master tracks(Maybe STP, Foo Fighters or Soundgarden)
- A few random tracks, likely one-hit wonders and cover versions of classic rock songs

After that, they'll go back to a three-pack per week with maybe one full album per month.

This is just me being hopeful, but it would be pretty awesome if they offered up Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton (the Portal song) for free on Christmas.

That'd be highly awesome, minus the Grateful Dead. They do absolutely nothing for me, but that's just my musical taste.

I'll probably get booed out of the topic, but I would love so much to see a Chevelle pack with Family System, The Clincher, and maybe The Red, and a Breaking Benjamin pack with Breath, So Cold, and Firefly or Breakdown.

Also, a Mudvayne pack of basically anything by them. I don't care. I just want my Mudvayne.

If I had those three packs, I'm pretty sure I could die happy.

I was going for more a prediction than a statement of personal preference. I don't know much of the Dead's catalogue, and I doubt it will be my cup of tea. I like Touch of Grey, so I'll probably pick up the pack that it ends up in and see if the rest catches me or not.

My Christmas miracle would involve

-Who's Next (full album)(obviously)
-Is This It? by The Strokes (full album)
-Supergrass 3 Pack (Tonight, Time, I'd Like to Know)
-Bad Reputation by Joan Jett
-Suck My Kiss by RHCP
-Can't You Hear Me Knockin by the Rolling Stones
-Police and Thieves by The Clash

I think I turned this into a wish list on accident........Oh well! My real prediction is Who's Next for Christmas and a list of DLC through the second or third week of Jan. Good enough for me :D

I'ma go out on a limb and say that, since it's Christmas, it'll be some Harmonix in-house bands doing covers of Christmas classics. Something like Vagiant doing a cover of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, for example. Either that, or Who's Next PLUS at least one free Christmas-themed song.

I think it's too late for christmas themed music, that should have been out a couple weeks ago. Now it is christmas and as many people have said, a lot of people will be getting their sets today, and Sean did mention awesomeness, so my guess is for something big and wanted.

Maybe Who's Next, if theres any albums that will be it. otherwise a couple of 3 packs and a few random singles. Guns and Roses, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi perhaps.

Guns and Roses DLC Album! Anyone I don't care!

Why just one album? Why not their whole discography? I would buy every song! That’s my Christmas wish/dream.

What I realistically think will happen is we will get an announcement today about what will be released tomorrow and it will probably be the Who’s Next album along with a song pack or 3 single songs. Then we will be updated every Friday or Monday about what they plan to release that following Tuesday.

They've already got the mainstream Enter Sandman plus three older classic Metallica tracks. I could totally dig on For Whom the Bell Tolls, but I hope we don't see any more Metallica for a while. Remember, there are hundreds of great bands out there (metal included) who haven't had any songs in RB...

Here's (http://www.melodic.net/newsOne.asp?newsId=9356) the source for the claim.

The only thing I can be sure about predicting is a glut of songs like on release. Not sure how many, but certainly more than 3. Think it's too early for the Dew bands, and an album is pretty likely, but if there is an album I think there'll still be something outside of it. I'd predict a revival of a past GH song or three, since it'd take (slightly) less work to develop- two of the lines are already done.

Still. Who's Next seems pretty likely. Anything else is me hoping.

i would think that it's going to be something we have heard about before... such as who's next, the grateful dead or nirvana's nevermind. I just want some bad company or tom petty.

edit: by the way, i don't know why anybody would want christmas music. sure, it'd be good for a day but would you really want it randomly showing up in band world tour all year long? i don't think i would even download it.

There will be DLC next week. An announcement will go out today or Monday.

An announcement would go through a press release (probably jointly from MTV Games and Harmonix) to news outlets. This doesn't require any Harmonix developers to be active on the Rock Band forums or anything.

Wow I'm very underwhelmed. All American Rejects should be fun, but only releasing 5 songs? When are the full albums coming? How about some holiday music?

HOliday Music wouldn't work being mixed into the BWT.

Well, at least I was right that it was more than 3 songs.

The two 30 Seconds to Mars tracks are going to be awesome, and at $0.99 a song, you can't possibly go wrong! That's a friggn iTunes track right there. =]

by the way, i don't know why anybody would want christmas music. sure, it'd be good for a day but would you really want it randomly showing up in band world tour all year long? i don't think i would even download it.

You could always erase the song off your system and in the case of the Xbox 360 just re download it again for free next year. that way it doesn't appear in any set lists.

Anyone know if we can get these at midnight tonight?

can you erase them? i didn't realize that.

on second thought concerning the releases, .99 cents isn't bad at all. especially, if you got a good deal on xbla points.

I predict............Some All-American Rejects, some 30 Seconds to Mars, and maybe the Sounds. And at $.99 per song!!!

Hah just kidding. That'd never happen..

30 Seconds To Mars is fine, I got no issues against them. All-American Rejects, I'm tired of hearing Move Along already but maybe it might be different playing it, Dirty Little Secret I am unsure how fun it will be to play, I think I'd rather play Swing, Swing instead.
The Sounds I am simply going to pass on, besides Maja's singing, the band overall sounds generic, lifeless and lazy.

We still haven't seen The Who's "Who's Next" album yet. Which I sorta expected last thursday.

That was my first question, I have nothing against aar but if you're going to put them in the game there has to be swing swing. Nothing against the decision, but it would have been a nice three pack.

lame...

can see why though. all the high school/grade schoolers who are into this kinda stuff will be waaay more likely to buy...
