There are songs that have been FC'd with optimal overdrive paths, and yet haven't been gold starred. This is found on vocals and bass mainly though. I just wanted to bring this to your attention as I believe that if you fc a song, you should get gold stars. Are you working on a patch to fix this?

I believe the Gold Records mark requires that you get 1.5x the EXPERT 5-star score, so FCing on Easy/Medium/Hard won't get you the Gold Records.
As for BWT... I'd assume that 4 players (all on Expert) would be all but required to get the Gold Records. But I'm much less sure about that.

Because the algorithm used to calculate gold star cutoffs does not inherently allow all songs to be gold-starred. Some songs are laid out in such a way that the maximum score will never reach the gold-star cutoff calculated by the algorithm.
Why would they be working on a patch to fix this? There's nothing to be fixed. It's just the way that it is.
If anyone is that obsessive-compulsive about gold-starring every song, to the point where they can't even be content just knowing they got the maximum score, then I think the person really has more important issues to be concerned about.

If there are songs in Rock Band that you cannot physically Gold Record then that's stupid and should be fixed. The point of the Gold Records is that you've played that song so well and it is so close to flawless that it is suitable for using as a widely distributed recording that people would buy off the shelves. Every song should be able to have that achieved for it.
