Like this (http://www.last.fm/user/PoMM82) guy? I think he likes "Under Pressure" a little bit... that or he (most likely) likes to leave his iTunes on loop for this song.

Anyways, I've heard some songs I'm sure a couple hundred times, but a couple thousand... a HUNDRED thousand?

Anyone think this guy actually has listened to the song that many times?

There is too many good artists for me to just spend 100,000 plays on just one song...that guy must be insane.

In 32 years, I'm sure there's a song I've listened to that much=)

That's incredible!

Under Pressure is listed as 4:02 on Wikipedia

On an endless loop, it would take over 321 days to play it 114,783 times (latest count). And this user's profile says they've been a member only since July 2007.

I doubt most people have even heard their favorite song 14,783 times (the rounding error to 100K). That alone would take 41 days on an endless loop.

Not familiar with last.fm... would it still count as a 'play' if the user started the track over after the first few seconds and that legendary opening?... "Preh-SHAH!"

You have to listen to roughly half of the song for it to count as a listen.

I thought my 1000 something plays on an underoath Song on my old Itunes was impressive.
Looks like I need to quit beating around the bush and get to it again.

My iTunes has reset a couple times since I started using it due to switching computers or reformatting. I would think even if I counted the stuff before my current go, nothing would have over 150 plays. Current highest is only 65.

I'm not sure there's a song I wouldn't get sick of after 1,000 listens, let alone 100,000. So, no.

That guy clearly had it just playing on repeat. That doesn't diminish the fact that this guy loves Under Pressure so much that he decided that he needed to have the most listens to it on Last.fm.

I'm sure there are many 311 songs I have listened to at least 1000 times each, but 100000? No freaking way.

Yeah, maybe not intentionally (and maybe not quite 100,000 times), but I'm sure there are quite a few songs that are up there just from hearing them at various locations and events.

Michael Jackson stuff, and even sports anthems like "We Will Rock You" come to mind.

Not to mention theme songs to the shows we watch all the time!

I have about 250 plays for a Silversun Pickups song. And they're my favorite band. I couldn't do 100,000.

Oh yeah, then the Simpsons theme would've probably reached the goal by now. :D

The number is impossible for me to reach, the highest played songs on my ipod is Superunkown by Soundgarden at 156, then Commotion by CCR at 129, Doesn't Remind me by Audioslave at 116, and Break on Through by the doors a 106. Nothing else tops the top 100.

I was actually thinking about that very thing after Renrock's post... but any way you slice it, 100K is mind-blowing.

"Friends" had 238 episodes. Let's say you watched every episode 10 times (including reruns). That's still only 2,380 times of hearing "I'll Be There For You" (a shortened version, no less). Even if you counted all the The Who songs for the 3 CSI's at 10 times per episode, I don't think it would help much.

Throw in National Anthems, Christmas carols, The Macarena, The Star Wars Theme, FreeCreditReport.com jingle... still barely scratching the surface of 100K, I think (even though we all feel like we've heard them millions of times).

Assuming you lived 80 years, you would need to listen to a song about 3 or 4 times every single day to reach 100K, essentially meaning it's about the same # as the # of meals you've ever had in your life. And this is if it's the only song you ever listen to.

Is there even any incentive to "cheat" or artificially boost the #'s? While I don't think he's always present when it's playing, I do think he is genuinely nuts about the song.

I've heard that song about 714 times then. (The Friends Theme)

From my last count on iTunes, prior reset, the top two were Alanis' "Straitjacket" (it was an 'anger phase'...lol) at 126. Followed by Franz Ferdinand's "Take Me Out" at 98.

How the heck can one listen to the same artist, at least, 126k times in two and a half years?!
