View Full Version : Sagging whammy bar... anybody else?

So my whammy bar apparently isn't strong enough to support itself, and it sags and drops down. Quite annoying. Just like my X-plorer did (and still does).

I'd send it in for a replacement, but I've already done that twice, and I finally got a strum bar that works, and I don't want to risk getting another guitar with a cruddy strum.

Anybody know if there's a fix for this? If I open the guitar, is there any hope? I'm hoping it'll be as simple as something like tightening a screw. But I wanted to see if anybody else had this problem, and how they addressed it.

That's poopie. I had an X-plorer for a while that did that and it drove me crazy. I'd open it up and see if there's a way to tighten it.

This JUST happened to me on the weeked, I was playing and actually heard the spring inside the controller snap, and now the whammy bar has no lift to it. Still works but you have to physically bring it up and down... rather annoying but not warranting a warranty replacement at the moment
