How would i know......

How would i know if my Rock Band was one of the recently shipped ones? I hear all this talk about problems with the drum petal breaking and some other issues.....many say that the latest shipments have different hardware or "better quality".....is this even true? and if so how do i find out if i have a newly shipped one? thank you :D

Try looking for a sticker somewhere on the package that will state the date of quality inspection. Generally speaking, the earlier that date is the more likely you'll have one of the earlier generation of peripherals more prone to failure. It's not an absolute rule, but if you see an inspection date before mid-November, your chances may be higher of having a defective peripherals.

Mine was purchased last Thursday (getting it on Christmas). Hopefully it's not defective.

I was like you man, very afraid that my instruments could break at any moment. But I thougt "they sold many many bundle game in US and we just hear about problems on the forums. So, maybe I should relax about that and just play normally"

I play since saturday and for the moment no problems.. I try to play normally and don't hit the drum pads like a crazy rocker.. haha Don't forget that these instruments are made in plastic ..

Yeah, hopefully. Some folks who bought the bundles the day of release "heard" about the problems and I know of at least one that returned theirs as an exchange for a later shipped box. What did BestBuy do...plopped that return right down on top of the stack.

I hope yours is a later one...but even if its not, failure isn't certain...likely, but not for sure.

what exactly is defective then? just the bass pedal??? if so then beefing that up would pretty much solve any issues??

To tell you the truth, I don't even know if the guy was using that line as an excuse for the lack of games here in Québec. But if I remember correctly, he was talking about the games themselves, not the instruments.
