Xbox 360 Guitar Problems - long notes cutting out

Ok, I haven't noticed anybody posting this specific problem. I have a problem long notes - I will be holding down the 2 fret buttons -- usually it happens when holding red/green or red/yellow - I will strum once, let up on the strum bar - then the game acts like i lifted my fingers off the fret buttons. I also have a problem when up/down strumming fast notes - it is definately not a calibration problem. Has anyone had the problems with the fret buttons? Is there some kind of fix for this? Should I just send in for a replacement? P.S. I definately have a first gen guitar. Any advice would be appreciated.

The game doesn't think you took your fingers off the frets ...... it thinks you strummed twice. It's the dreaded double strum.

Have you ever noticed that you'll drop 2 or 3 spots at once when moving around the menus ?

Anyways ..... you need a replacement.
