I just got really annoyed.

Walking on my way home from work, I was just minding my own buisness when this little kid pushed me then started accusing me of trying to mug an old man who was a few seconds up the road I was walking.

what happend to respect for your elders.

I didn't really do anything in responce just walked of... what do you think I should have done?

You should have used your laser vision to melt his face.

That's rude behaviour for a kid. How old do you think he was? And were the parents around?

If a kid is bothering me or someone I know in a public place, I will always go up to the parent and speak with them about controlling their kid. And if the kid is older and not with a parent, I have the teacher's ability to put the fear of God in them :)

Something like that happened to me a while back. I was walking home from college and some little kid, probably no more than 11 tried to steal my MP3 from my hand. I instinctively backhanded him across the face and he ran off crying

Anyway, the point is kids have no respect anymore

damn always a good idea when it's too late

But yeah the kid was like 10 or 11 years old and it wasn't in a public place it was on a housing estate

what happend to respect for your elders.I don't know if it ever really existed. Except maybe in places like China and Japan.

I didn't really do anything in responce just walked of... what do you think I should have done?I'm inclined to put a lot of the blame for things like this on idiotic, incompetent parents, so I would have looked to see if they were around and had a word with them. Not that they likely would have cared that much, if at all.

Kids used to be respectful, but the TV sitcom ruined it. In the 70’s and 80’s the sassy kid became fashionable.

At least that’s where all my problems stem from.

You should've bribed him to shut up with the money you mugged from the old guy up the street.

My attitude towards kids is totally different. Yes, by all means, BE smart, be sharp, the last thing I'd ever want to communicate to kids is that they shouldn't be smart or there's ever a bad time to be smart. But the subtlety of the matter that seems to escape most people is that it's possible to be smart without being a total horse's ass.

I saw the word "chav" in the title and immediately thought...

"Yeah but no but yeah but..."

I think you did the right thing. It's great to see people who can turn the other cheek.
