I'm just putting it out there: if you randomly hook up with me online and I bail  about 10 seconds after you have scrolled through some songs to get to the one you want, it's because you don't have DLC. Nothing personal. (I just like playing DLC.)

Understandable. A bunch of us on XBL do the same thing we we play. We'll find a random drummer, and if he/she doesn't have the DLC, we'll split. Sad and cruel, but that's how we are.
We should change our ways.

Why? I mean, you limit yourself to about 16 songs? That's lame.

I always prefer playing with someone who has the DLC, but I'll still play a bit otherwise. I do usually encourage the other players to get it, though.

I don't look at it as me limiting myself to 16 songs - I look at it as you limiting yourself (and me at the same time) to 45 songs. That's lame (and I ain't havin' any of it).

Cool. Lego was the ONE game that I haven't bought. I guess I just felt that I had to draw the line somewhere (and it surely wasn't going to be to cut the Beatles game out... I've been a Beatles fan for years). But, I do have about 200 downloads on RB2. I suck at Guitar/Bass/Vocals, so I wouldn't mind having a drum-off with you sometime.

I thought I was a lone DLC snob, but I guess I'm not alone.
It's especially annoying when you finally have a full band and ONE member doesn't have the DLC. Makes me annoyed/sad as a singer. Cos I absolutely adore singing the Sgt. Pepper's stuff.

Although DLC is OPTIONAL, I view DLC for this game as a necessity. However, I haven't played the game in over a month, so I haven't gotten the chance to play with others with DLC. If I ever really want to play DLC, and cannot play the songs with others online, I'll just play solo.

Oh, I very much agree with you on that one.

I have all the DLC and when I find someone who does not have it then I will still play a few songs with them and keep remarking that they should really get the DLC. Hopefully when they see that it is fun to play online, then they will get the DLC because of this. If you keep rejecting these people then they may feel there is no point playing online and therefore no point to buying the DLC, so they just get the achievements/trophies and then sell the game. Thus making it harder to find people to play online when future DLC comes out.

Cool story bro'
Seriously, you are only discouraging people from playing online and re-inforcing the image of the Expert/dlc snob online. You're on these boards a lot and I am really disappointed. Overall, I think that the majority of the people here play for enjoyment and get jazzed hooking up with fellow Beatles fans. I suggest that you play with friends who have the dlc and avoid random groups. Really disappointed....:(
btw, I have all the dlc and intend to get all the upcoming dlc.

:D:D:D Ok, to tell the whole truth, I don't jam out everytime that I see that ppl don't have DLC (although I am dissappointed every time that I see greyed out songs in the quickplay list). If I feel like playing in-game songs I stay, if I feel like DLC I go. That's how it is, and that's how it goes. I just get tired of playing the same 3 songs over and over (which is a pretty common gripe in the chats) because people haven't gotten the DLC. And, no, I don't bail when people choose a lower level than expert (which I have seen people do A TON online). But I do appreciate the tolerant people on these boards. It's the tolerant (you know who you are) that teach us petty people (we know who we are) to make the world a better place. :):):)
p.s. Sorry to dissappoint anyone that may have thought better of me... as Charles Barklay said, "I am not a role model."

I do tell others I'm playing with to get the DLC, just cos it makes the game more fun.
I don't always drop out immediately, but sometimes I do. Cos I really don't feel like playing "I Wanna Be Your Man" when I want to play "Lovely Rita".
And when it comes to difficulties, I don't drop out cos someone plays on something else than Expert.
(Though it is rather frustrating when they're doing pretty bad on Easy and keep a full bar with Beatlemania for the entire duration of the song. Just sayin')
I do understand dropping out can be demotivational to play online for others... but at least I drop out before or after a song rather than DURING a song.

Hey gigli - sorry if I came across a bit rough. I know that there are a lot of newer players on these boards. Now, I like hooking up with expert players and scoring well online (yesterday it was just me and a drummer, I followed him for Beatlemania and we gold starred the first 3 songs that we played - awesome feeling). That said, I also hooked up with an Easy drummer who generally hit around 80-90%. No worries, it was still fun rockin' to the Beatles.
I think that if I were consistently better (I think I $uck :o) I may be more of an Expert snob but, I do understand that everyone has to start somewhere and I think most will never play all the songs on Expert (there are a few that I don't think I'll ever master).
They say that misery loves company but, even if I'm playing with someone who borderlines failing, if I do the same, I just feel plain stoopid!! I also don't agree that you shouldn't try something new online (pushing your level of play) just because it affects the other players. You just shouldn't do it for every song. It's a game and it's frikkin' awesome fun.
Sharing the experience is Golden.
