I could be mistaken, but have we been given even one gameplay shot of the single player look? I do realize the real potential of Rock Band that HMX wants to show off is the four instruments playing together during multiplayer. Can't we at least get a peak at some single player rockin' though?

meh its gonna look just like any other guitar hero game. Except for the vocals obviously.
just take the one part (guitar, bass or drums) paste in the middle, remove the vocal track and there you go. for vocals it will scroll up top just like normal.
what i want to see is some of the supposed band management you can do in single-player and band co-op

why the hell would the vocal track play vertical? Every karaoke game HMX has made has had the vocal track horizontal to follow a sheet music type display.

Yeah, I know. I wanted to see if the health meter would be different and if there was anything else unique to the single player HUD.

I noticed that now. Thanks for pointing that out. Doesn't seem too interesting at the moment though. I hope it gets spiced up a bit.

Well, I don't speak for everyone but, most people will probably get rock band to play as a group and single player is just there for practice or when no one else is around
also I believe Harmonix is focusing on the whole Band experience and their trying to sell that

and even though you'll certainly be playing single player a lot when you're friends aren't around, single player is well, single player. The single mode(s) itself is going to be more expansive than it was in GH and the HUD will probably look the same as it does while all the instruments are present, just bigger (as shown in the trailer). Maybe not though, who knows. Perhaps they have some awesome stuff they're saving and keeping out of the released vids...but i doubt it:p

I remember seeing a video where your band was on the cover of a magazine, can't remember where i saw it. Or even if it was in Guitar Hero 3....... looked like a pretty cool part for the single player.

That was GH1, most likely.

I agree single player hasn't been talked about or shown that much, but it is there. I would like to hear more about the career mode, and see how in depth it is.
The main focus though is definately on the band this time around, in part thats because it is what is new compared to other rhythm games and I think it is the most exciting part about the game.
As the game gets closer to release and more info comes out about it in the form of previews and reviews, I expect more talk about what the single player aspect of the game has to offer.

It's only natural that Rock Band is going to push it's latest and greatest features (ie: multiplayer, drum set, etc).
Based on the multiplayer, you can sort of infer what single player will look like I think. (same interface, without the additional fretboards/lyrics, etc) From all accounts it sounds basically like Guitar Hero single player.
