even if it is a standalone downloadable app, (as opposed to attempting to mod/graft it in-game,) is it feasible to create a real-time, real-world a/v and lag compensation instrument calibration utility?

going back and forth between menus when needing to use the manual a/v and lag calibrations is time consuming; plus, you really don't get to see the actual results of your changes until you again navigate the menus, launch a new song, and wait for the song to load before you can see if your adjustments were effective.

could a real-time, immediate feedback calibration tool work in the following fashion?:
-launch the calibrate app
-an a/v click track starts playing
-pick up an instrument (one at a time; for example, drums/guitar/mic)
-try to play the instrument on the click (hit a pad/strum a note/sing a note)
-simply adjust with U/D and L/R combos on instrument's d-pad until a/v and lag are synced (which means the drum or guitar would be timed with click track and the mic would also in sync and encounter no major echo)
-once everything is in sync, the app would either directly update the RB saved calibration config, or it could at least display the a/v and lag compensation values you would then simply need to enter into the existing, in-game manual calibration tool.

i only ask because no matter what i do, i just can't get everything in sync. (drums are the worst; both when it comes to scoring during regular play and when it comes to not sounding like i suck in front of my friends while performing solo fills ;)) (on a side note: i feel the kick's physical tension is a little too high as well.)

not complaining, just suggesting! thanks for the great game!!! :)

p.s. went with 360 version of RB so i could buy GH3 for the extra guitar until you release a stand-alone guitar/bass. see? they got their money! ;)
