This album (as you could've guessed) was Queen's second. This one's probably the darkest and heaviest album Queen has made. I personally think it's their best. Here is my track by track review.

1. Procession - Just a simple guitar intro made to sound grand through double tracking. Not too important. 4/10
2. Father to Son - This song is just amazing. From its keyboard-sounding guitar intro to its heavy section reminiscent of Son and Daughter from the first album to the gospel-like choirs that sing at the end, this is my second favorite from the album. 10/10
3. White Queen (As It Began) - A nice little ballad with great buildup. While not my favorite on the album, it's still good. 8/10
4. Some Day One Day - A fine tune, although it kind of gets boring at times. 6/10
5. The Loser in the End - A rockin' number by Roger Taylor, although not as good as Tenement Funster or I'm In Love With My Car from other albums. I like the use of echo here. 7.5/10
6. Ogre Battle - And thus starts the best side of the album, and boy does it start with a bang! This track is one of Queen's heaviest, if not, their heaviest. 9/10
7. The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke - A goofy sounding song, but it's got some good vocal production techniques. Pretty average. 6.5/10
8. Nevermore - A mini-ballad that's great. It would be better if it were longer. 7.5/10
9. March of the Black Queen - The best song on the album for me. The tempo changes and the heaviness of it are definitely driving factors in that opinion, but the balladish section in the middle is also beautiful. 10/10
10. Funny How Love Is - I love the way Black Queen transitions into this. It just feels so right. This is a catchy and upbeat tune that really does not disappoint, although it's sort of short. 9/10
11. Seven Seas of Rhye - The piano lick is not only very memorable, but the song in general rocks hard. A great closer to the album. 9/10

Altogether, the album gets a 9/10 out of me.

What do you guys think of this album?

best queen album, very accurate review, though i'd knock down "funny how love is" a point or two.

also, "the march of the black queen" is queen's best song. period.

Excellent Queen album, among my favorites and I think among their greatest albums, great review.

this is probably my 3rd favorite queen album, behind "a night at the opera" and "sheer heart attack".

One of my favorite Queen albums! This and A Day At the Races are actually my favorite 2. And then A Night At the Opera (for Bohemian Rhapsody, Prophet's Song and Death On Two Legs mainly).

Great review. They should have used some of these in the Queen pack. Here's hoping for that Queen Rock Band. If Green Day deserve a full game, then Queen definitely do.

Great review.

I put Queen 2 as the #3 album - Night at the Opera being number one (what can I say, The Prophet's song is the song that got me into Queen), and Innuendo being their second.

I think I may have heard this album once before, but it's been a long time ago. I do love "Seven Seas Of Rhye". Suffice it to say, the review was written well enough to make me dig this out of my archives. I'm going to pop it in tomorrow!
