What the f**k is with the PS2 version?

I just bought it today,and not only is online scrapped,but customization is too!What is with the game?
Is the PS2"too weak"?
Is the PS2"Not meant for online"?

If it helps,i got just the game as Zellers wont keep the special edition on hold for people (yet they did for GH1,2,3,80's):confused:

i think i read an article that they had to scrap the customization part because it slowed down the gameplay too much, and the online element i'm not sure - i THINK it was cuz they weren't trying to go that direction with the PS2 version..

i think what you basically asked though:

Is the PS2"too weak"?

i think both of the answers are simply "yes", but there's a whole lot more behind each answer

What do you mean "If it helps?" I'm sure it helps you, but I can't imagine why anyone would purchase the PS2 version anyway. I mean the draw is online play and it's been known for quite some time that it didn't go online. My suggestion, go to the next generation. I still use my PS2 a ton, but Wii, PS3 and 360 are just gen now, not next gen anymore.

Point proven with the next gen,but

1:I have a Wii,but RB probably wont be released for Wii.
2:I've heard the 360 overheats too much,even in well ventilation.
3:PS3 prices are,well,too much.

Also,i meant if it helps as if Special Edition has those features and not just bundled with instruments.

May as well get the cheapest PS3 version...

360 RROD problems have been pretty much null with the new batch of consoles almost a year ago now.....my Elite is still going strong and not even hot.

The PS3's 40 gig is a good entry point IMO (im grabbing one soon)

The wii is fun (i own one also) but dont think RB will actually comeout but i could be wrong.

Time to move up to the CURRENT gen. Ps2 is last gen.....

Harmonix has been quoted as saying that PS2 version was never meant to have online play. That never ever was an option that was going to be included with the game due to the lack of capabiliity (as far as RB is concerned) for the PS2. If you bought that PS2 version thinking it would have online play you made a big mistake and shoulda done some research.

Yargh, just you wait guys. Rock Band Wii IS coming out. Judging by the sales of GH3 on the Wii, Harmonix/MTV would be fools not to release it on that console.

I love the ps2 version.

I bought the PS3 bundle + ps2 game and work to perfection ( but i will need a usb hub OR a Multi-tap for 4 player )


I knew that they was not online play and custom. So i was not dissapoint.

The graphic are reallllllllly nice for ps2, because it's all "pre-made movie", but i love them all.
And i loved the "Bands" that they made for songs. Like the "Metal Band", the "HitMakers" and "Alt-Rock Band" the grunge band etc etc.


My guitar and drum work well ! So i can't be sad !!!!

And when i will get a PS3 !!!!! I got my bundle and game !!! WOOOOOOOOOO
