The irony is I want a gaming board to reduce gaming threads yet here I am.

If you've seen my profile you know how I feel about MGS4 on 360. THIS WAS LEAKED AND PROVEN MONTHS AGO!!! Yet Konami just refused to come out of the closet. Well Joystiq (and Konami) bring word that the 360 version will be released a few months after the PS3 version.

Thoughts? Rants? Random barracuda related nonsense?

A few months ago Destructoid interviwed a Konami employee who asked to be anonymous.

He (she?) gave the whole lowdown about a planned 360 edition to be released sometime after the PS3 edition. That same day Konami threatened to take legal action if the article wasn't removed. DToid instead "censored" all the names.

Google "[Cease and Desist] coming to Xbox 360" and it should come up.

Ever since then Konami never denied it wasn't going multiplatform but rather hinted at it.

I think it is very legit looking at how hard Konami worked to cover it up. And before E3 they hinted it and now claims of a confirmed later release.

I love how all the xbox fanboys were like "they should release it on xbox, they're gonna release it on xbox" then after E3 suddenly theyre all saying "pfft! we didnt want it anyways"

If it indeed does come out on 360 I'm curious to see how it plays compared to the PS3 version. How many ports have we seen of ps3 --> 360?

I too wonder how it'll play. The only hiccup I can imagine is in the processor.

I honestly don't care.......as long as the core MGS gameplay elements are there and the story is intact I will be so ****ing pumped. I just want to finish my favorite series of all time

Totally in the same boat. I simply can't afford a PS3 so this is awesome to see Konami slowly creeping out about this.

I am a member of a metal gear forum and the sheer amount of ps3 fanboyism annoys me. It getting ported would shut them up real quick.

Well MGS 2 came to Xbox and MGS was planned (but cancelled) for N64. MGS was always (originally) a multiplatform series. But after 2 the fanbase was mainly with Sony. Now with lackluster PS3 sales and the Japanese effort to encourage more systems in the market MGS becomes multi once again.

I just get so sick of hearing all this talk about rumors and such about MGS4 going to the 360. Am the only one who doesn't care? I wish Konami would just flat out confirm or deny development of a 360 version so it stopped making headlines every day. I don't have either a PS3 or 360 at the moment, and I hope to get both at some point. If I had a choice between the two MGS4 versions, I'd go for the PS3 version over the port hands down. I'm just really not a fan of ports in general.

The only people who really seem to care about all this are fanboys of a gaming company. The only thing that would persuade me to buy Rock Band on PS3 over 360 (or vice versa) is if one version was an obviously inferior port. I care about the quality of the software much more than the hardware it's playing on when it comes to ports.

You people keep pegging me as a fanboy because I'd rather spend $60 than $560 to play MGS. If I had the money I'd have a PS3 once MGS4 is released but I don't. I'm generally anti-exclusive with third party publishers anyway.

Sigh.. just like ford vs chevy vs gm there will always be fanboyism when it comes to the game industry. I don't give a damn who makes it, what the controller looks like, where my money is going.. If the game is fun, what does it matter what system its on?

I honestly think most fanboys are just kids whose parents buy them certain systems.. They can't buy others on their own so they don't want games to come out for any system but theirs. Jealousy is a *****

That's why I hate exclusives. First party titles are justifiable but otherwise it can have a pretty negative effect.
