Since everyone else has I one, I thought why not?

1. Pinkerton - Weezer

Possibly the best thing this band has ever recorded, my personal favorite album of all time, get this album if you like enjoy Weezer and have never heard of this. This album is one of those ' I'm lonely someone must be out there' type of album and they nailed it with my "luck" as far as relationships go, this album sums it up (maybe why I like it so much), if you are having girl problems I feel bad for you son pick this album up and it will be an instant remedy.

2. Jane Doe - Converge

This Album Is Beautiful On So Many Levels

I understand that Jacob Bannons "barking" isn't for everyone I've heard it been described as "unintelligible nonsense" and some other terms that would be censored if I put them up. The "barking" is what makes Converge, this album is more than just a song by song chaotic mess, this album is meant to be listened to from start to finish in one sitting, The album as a whole when put together is a beautifully story of a broken heart and a torn soul (Jane Doe), it's a story that is told both with the lyrics AND the instruments, Kurt Ballou to me is one of the best guitarist to come around in a long long time. His playing makes it seem like there are 3 guitarists at once, and the emotion he gets out of a distorted guitar almost reminds me of Buckethead.
album of the decade imo

3. Can't Maintain - Andrew Jackson Jihad

Folk Punk, not a term you see every day, to put it simply: This album is depression in audio format, this guy really hates himself, and if you think your in a depressed state, listen to this and you will feel WAY better about yourself. I love it though, there is something about an acoustic guitar a ukulele and a stand up bass that adds to the emotion of the music, I recommend Downloading this cause you won't find it in target.

4. Enter The Wu (36 Chambers) - Wu-Tang Clan

In a time when Hip-hop was entering the G-Funk era (thanks to Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre) and getting away from the "Gangsta" era, Wu-Tang Clan gave the Hip-Hop world a wake up call with the raw and powerful Enter The Wu (36 Chambers) this album is just plain raw, there is no other way to describe it, the beats are sketchy and sound acoustic almost, the verse's delivered are flat out amazing not one member misses a beat throughout the entire album. Not to mention that every single solo album from the members of the Wu are also Classics

5. Still Nothing Moves You - Ceremony

This is midget kicking music

Yup, you read right Midget Kicking Music. This music is angry and violent they make Slipknot sound and look like a bunch of pussies (not that that's a tough thing to pull of but still). The emotion and speed of this album will get anyone angry, anyone. With lines such as "I won't be skullf*cked by fate, I am the upside down cross" or screaming "DRIVE YOUR CAR THROUGH YOUR HOUSE". these guys are pissed about something, and that something is everything. It's just a good album to sit down with a scowl on you face for about 30 min. (thats the length of the album).

6. Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over The Sea

there really is nothing to say that hasn't already been said about this album, it's flat out amazing on of the best Indie albums ever created, Jeff Mangum and his acoustic guitar create some the best sounds that have come out of this "genre" it is a great entry-level album for someone who wants to learn more about indie music or hipster culture.

7. fun. - Aim and Ignite

possible the funnest album ever created, but at the same time the album also contains a sense of self irony, it might "sound" fun at first listen but in reality the album is the irony of putting on a mask whilst depressed, such amazing songs about heartbreak and romance. not to mention the singer is, in my honest opinion, the best vocalist since Freddy Mercury, he hits notes that you would have to squeeze a certain part of me to get out all in all a wonderful pop album and a must get for anyone who want's something different than Relient K or Simple Plan

i can't seem to get into that fun album... there are some good parts, but i find myself kinda cringing at others.

i'll be keeping an eye on them, since they could turn into an amazing band with a little work.
and it is hard work being a band who basically sound like queen and elton john getting together to write some songs in the vein of their favorite indie rock bands.

.

like "Walking the Dog"? I'll admit that the whole "OHHH" and "NAH -NAH NAHNAHANHANAH" can get old quick but I look at it more from an irony perspective with the content in the songs against the beat that's being played (i.e "I'm Not As Sad As I Used To Be") also I thought the ending of the album was weak, the whole repetition thing of "Take Your Time" was a turn off for me but that's all I really can complain about
this whole irony talk makes me feel all hipster-ish

i don't remember specifics since i've only listened to the album twice, but i remember the album definitely wearing thin as it went on for me.

i'd like it if they turned the cheese down just a tad and maybe tried to put out a really solid 30 minute album.

yeah some of the songs really do go over the top on that, but some of em ("The Gambler") are real tear jerkers (or it just means I'm a ***** for love songs)
