My wife and I are playing together and we'd like to play our original hometown club (the one you first start out in) all the way through on Hard. However, while we're able to do the starting tunes on Hard, anything in the second or third tier is too difficult for us to get through together. This is a problem when you try to play a gig that picks from your entire pool.
If we were to delete our band and start over, would that reduce the pool of songs the game will choose from during the Random Songs gigs to the first three songs?
Essentially what I'm saying is that if we could get back to zero and only have to play In Bloom, I Think I'm Paranoid and Say It Ain't So on Hard across all the gigs from our hometown (including the random one), we'd be able to finish it all on Hard and increase our fan count. As it stands now, we don't know what we're going to get. The most recent play-through we got Train Kept A'Rollin and Blackened. Not good. We lost 11,000 fans.
Does any of this make any sense? Does anyone have any input?

Nope as long as you've unlocked the songs previously the songs will be available for random playlists and make a setlist.

Well, I think you can "re-lock" them by deleting any character that was involved in opening them.
Not sure about that, though.
If you're playing on the PS3, your best option is just to delete all RB related files, start the game over again (and re-download any DLC you had).
Not sure what the easiest path on the 360 would be.

Downloaded songs will always be available for random setlists. I think that, actually, any song in the game is available for random pulls right from the beginning. Because there are a couple of the Bonus/Harmonix Band songs that any of us first played due to it showing up on a Mystery Setlist type thing.
I don't know this for certain, mind you, but it seems to be how it must work based on my own experiences with the game.

The mystery set list doesn't care what songs you've unlocked or not. It picks from the full list, even ones you can't play in quick play.
