microphone needs a reg controller

I have 2 wireless regular xbox 360 controllers, if the guitar connects with one regullar controller, and the drums connect with the other, DO I NEED A THIRD controller to work with the MICROPHONE???

Yes, in your case turning on a regular controller will become player 3, the mic will automatically bind to that lone controller.

This is to allow the mic player to have his own controls for various functions, such as profile management, toon creation, song selection and difficulty completely separate from the other players.

edit: I see your confusion. The guitar and drums bind as their OWN controllers unto themselves (they have their own dpads, start/back, gems, etc), no normal controllers needed for them, only the mic needs one as it has no controls on the mic itself.
