the cards do get the most out of their pitchers and he will have carp & wainwright pitching next to him so i think he could be a decent investment.

Yeah he's a good starter just not a number one guy. He'll do fine on this team. He should get run support.

I want a good man in the rotation.
Fine then, Atlanta. My second team, almost as good, and in the NL.

ATL has too many starters. i read that they are going to be trading one of them. likely in the winter meetings. they need a big bat in the lineup.

what they really need is a 1B. they're gonna do something. it'll be interesting to see who they do get.

I'm just glad Penny's not the Dodgers' problem anymore. He was good when he was good, though.

My Mom's name is Penny. Just thought I'd point that random little fact out.

Alright, come on. This is causing way more spam than if the MLB thread were around. Mods, sorry but you just seem a little tincy wincy ass backwards.

The thing that makes no sense is that Apples(I think) said he'd bring back the thread when the season starts. But why? Why not let the one thread continue instead of having new threads pop up when some random dude got traded(In the part of the off season where theres a trade EVERY DAY).

As a Dodger fan, I say good luck...The guy hasn't been good in years. I remember last year he was *****ing about the Dodgers, and we lost to him in San Francisco but absolutely creamed him when we played in L.A.

The mods got this wrong, just make a freakin' MLB thread already so we don't need all these rather minor signings and trade threads popping up everyday.

as a massive cards fan, i think this move could end up being ok. penny isnt a world class pitcher, but this is similar to the smoltz scenario, where he sucked in the AL and was thought to be over the hill, but then came to st louis and did well. im hoping something similar happens with penny, because it was clear that he was a cheaper alternative to pineiro, so hey, we'll see how it works out.
