CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP)—A person familiar with the plan says Danica Patrick has reached a deal to enter NASCAR with JR Motorsports.
Patrick will announce a partial Nationwide Series schedule at a Tuesday news conference in Phoenix, the person familiar with her plans tells The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because she has not officially announced her intentions.
Last week Patrick signed a three-year contract extension with Andretti Autosport to stay in the IndyCar series, but its schedule gives her enough time to also try NASCAR.
It’s not clear yet how many races she will drive in NASCAR’s second-tier series for team owners Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Rick Hendrick.
GoDaddy.com will sponsor Patrick in both IndyCar and NASCAR.

At least we will see more GoDaddy.com commercials, ugh

As if there was anything good on ESPN in the first place...
Go Danica, I'm not the biggest fan of NASCAR, (I'd rather watch touring cars) but it's definitely a good thing that it's diversifying I guess.

I can't say I'm happy about it. For one, she was signed more for her face time and sex appeal as a way to revitalize interest in NASCAR over her actual driving skill. She's a good driver, but that's not why she was signed
In short, I'm not sure I'm going to enjoy the near-weekly reports on if she can succeed in the NASCAR circuit among men, and darned if she won't be as much reported and considered a fan favorite as Dale Jr. Expect around a 25th place final standings for when she eventually gets to run a full season

But this is cool too, I guess.

I posted this in the NASCAR thread. Silly me, I figured that's where it would go. :)
But, I tend to agree with Riles. It's a publicity move for both sides. NASCAR gets a driver that even people who don't follow racing know, and the added novelty of having a female driver. Danica gets to race on a circuit that has a much bigger television audience. While she's not a sled on the IndyCar circuit, she hasn't seen many podiums, and even the best IndyCar drivers have had difficulties making the adjustment to NASCAR.

This could definitely be interesting, although as I recall, she wasn't extremely awesome in F1, so I wonder how she'll do in NASCAR.

Good news for me. Could give nascar's smaller series the little boost it needs. I know Danica has a fiery temper. I'm dying to see Kyle Busch try to spin her out one race. (I was going to say tap her, but you know what that would've led to)

People still post there? I stopped updating it because (Major shocker) people didn't seem to care.
Note: I said major shocker referring to the fact that most people seem to dislike Nascar.

I'm content with Miranda Kerr, Marissa Miller, Adriana Lima, Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum, and Alessandra Ambrosio. Not sure Danica could compete with any of them as lingerie models any more than she will be able to compete with Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr., or any number of others as NASCAR drivers.
