Have you ever played Rock Band (Guitar/Bass) with a Real Guitar Pick?
Its Not very hard, its just your hand might cramp and Alt. Strumming is basically your only option

The gallops are alot easier to play with a real pick.

Rock Band Guitar doesn't seem fun if you play the real thing. So if you have a pick, you probably have a guitar, so you probably wouldn't be doing rock band guitar much.

You guys don't notice anything extremely boring playing rock band guitar?

5 huge buttons. Gosh it feels like a Fisher Price thing.

What I would do, had I there wherewithal to produce a guitar controller, is make the strummer out of rubber or vinyl and with some texture to it to make it grippy.

Oh, and move the strummer a bit closer to the neck, too.

What the heck you always make comments like this to my posts

I understand people who don't play guitar liking it, it's very simple, easy to do, and makes you feel like a rockstar. But I'm just saying my thoughts on if you really play.

I did but after a while it felt weird to me I just prefer strumming with my thumb

I just don't appreciate the pretension with which guitar players "look down" upon Rock Band/Guitar Hero players, especially as members with high post counts on forums dedicated to such games who probably got started on guitar thanks to said games.

I kind of agree a little bit. I've been playing guitar for 6 years and the RB guitar is pretty much a joke to me. I do still play it just because it's fun at parties and everyone always picks me to play guitar because I'm good. I usually stick to just the drums when playing RB.

As for the pick thing, I find it doesn't work at all for me. I even ended up breaking my pick on the strumbar. I still can't do alternate strumming in this game and I guess I never will.

Here's a little info that will make you change your minds about this: The strum limit, I heard, was implemented so that pick players wouldn't trigger double-strums.

I've played guitar in real life for 15 years, but I play the drums in RB. My bassist plays bass in real life, and he uses a pick to play in RB. I see no harm in real players playing RB. It's fun as hell, and get so tired of the hate against RB from real players.

Im sure a lot of ppl here dont play much of the real instruments played on rock band, but cmon the game was created for the sake of fun and rocking out. I mean not everybody gets to go on stage and get lots of fans cheering them on while playing favorite songs.

I been playing guitar for almost 2 years now, bass and drums for a year, and screamo for just about 3 months :P. Yet i still enjoy every aspect of RB...good way to party and pass time (;

You guys are twisting my words.

RB players: Awesome! That must be really cool! I agree the game is probably really fun, but I don't enjoy it anymore because I can play it in real life and it is too simplified to me now!

Not saying anything about RB players, just saying about real guitar players playing the simplified guitar isn't much fun

Just, it kind of feels kind of fake (when you play it for real) and boring

I play real drums and i play rock band drums.

I honestly have an equal amount of fun on both, so i have no idea what you are babbling on about Overdrive.

But cmon buddy you cant honestly say you can play every song on Rock Band (on real guitar) with ease? :P

There comes a time where you'll need technology. This is that time.

Not to brag here, but I can:D

The only one that gives me some trouble is obviously "Panic Attack".

I've played guitar for about 6 years, started way back in 6th grade. I ended up getting sick of it because of my lack of skill. And yes I did practice quite frequently and took lessons. Just hit my peak I suppose. Then RB1 came out and completely renewed my interest in it. I enjoy playing both guitar and RB. Just for some who aren't that good at guitar, like me, it's always nice to let off some practice frustration and playing some expert Panic Attack or some really hard song :)

And believe me when I say I've put way more time into real guitar than RB. I just don't feel I can go anywhere with my guitar playing anymore so that is where RB steps in.

I've played RB and GH with a pick before. It's tough, but it makes you look super cool.

Actually it makes you look like a douche, and it's much easier to do without. :p
