I currently am looking to step up to a better set of drums .. I have access to this:

Yamaha DTXpress electronic drumset including Pintech mesh-head snare w/ pearl stand, Pintech mesh-head kick drum w/ DW4000 double kick pedal and drum throne.

I am wondering if it can be setup to work with RB and Xbox360, and if so what would i need to do it?

Yeah you can set them up to work with Rock Band, but you have to dig into the drum kit itself and do some sodering.

There's video's online of how to do it, but make sure you know what you're doing before you do so.

Don't want to bork your new set :)

No soldering whatsoever is necessary. All you need is a GH:WT drum kit, or a MIDI Rocker LX.

You don't have to open up or alter your DTXpress in any way, shape, or form.

I stand corrected then :)

I work in a music distribution center that chains out for four other stores.

We have the DT series drum kits and I heard the managers talking with the purchasing department about setting up a DT kit with Rock Band in one of the stores, and they were talking about sodering, and some jury rigging.

I don't have the kit myself, so I never researched it.

Carry on then, and ignore my initial post :D

Many many thanks..
Im a bit noobish at all this ..

So to use the MIDI Rocker LX on the 360 i have to by the Interface option as well? Or i just by the gear and solder it into one of my existing controllers as shown in the diagram

and the biggest question of all .. As i am not actually a drummer, but would love to learn .. is this a wise decision to make?

That's totally up to you. I personally don't trust my own soldering to do it, so I would pay ByteArts to do it for me. Your soldering expertise may vary. :)

To learn? Not really. But to be able to use a realistic drum set while playing the game, expanding your level of fun by at least an order of magnitude? Absolutely!
