I am more than a newbie, since I have nothing...until this weekend.
My question is, besides the logo and Beatles type guitar, what is the difference between Rockband 2 set and buying the Beatles game, or buying the special edition Rockband2 Beatles kit? Platform is 360.

2 Wired mics and a stand in the limited edition bundle apart from what you've already mention. I mean the drums have a pearl finish, white heads, and the Beatles drumhead as well...

Quality they are pretty much the same.
The RB2 kit is cheaper at this point.
You can get RB2, drum kit, guitar, and mic for $99.
Then just get the beatles game for $60.
Much cheaper than getting the premium beatles kit.
That is unless you are a huge Beatles fan.

I think the Special Edition is with RB1 instruments.
The Limited Edition has a mic stand, the Hofner Bass and Ringo's kit.
For value, get the RB2 bundle and the standalone TBRB as stated above.

There isnt 2 mics.
RB2 bundle: (1) guitar, (1) drum set, (1) mic, (1) RB2 game. - 99 bucks for PS2/Xbox.
Beatles Value edition: (1) RB1 guitar. (1) RB1 drum set, (1) mic, (1) Beatles Rock band game - 139 bucks
Beatles Rock Band Limited Edition: (1) Hofner Bass, (1) RB2 style drum set w/ pearl finish. (1) mic, (1) mic stand, (1) Beatles Rock band game - 249 bucks
Best way to go is to get a RB2 bundle and the Beatles game. It will cost you about 160 bucks and you will have everything you need and 2 games to play.

Unless you're like me who HAD to have the Hofner bass. The RB2 wireless drums were a nice bonus tho'. The mic stand is nice for voxtar.

Just as a note: The "pearl finish" is merely aesthetical - it's not even real. The only advantage, I think, is that the drum heads have a black "target" at the center - indicating the proper place to hit the pads.
The Hofner is supposedly a "premium" instrument - it's larger and more nicely built. However, this is kind of frivolous. If you don't have much to spend, or want to save up for an additional guitar, a RB2 set is probably the way to go.
Guitar Hero guitars also work.
