This isn't really RB related but I hope one of you can help. I bought my kids a Wii for Christmas along with 26" VIZIO LCDs. I can't wait for Christmas. :D

My questions is, can you hook the Wii up HDMI? I took it out and looked at it last night and didn't see a port for it. So if it can be done, how do you do it?

Thanks in advance for help.

Very wrong section, but okay.

Wii doesn't support HDMI. The highest resolution you can get with it is using component cables.

No. Wii only does 480 progressive. No HD.

You can get a component cable for it, either in stores or really cheap on eBay. It's worth it.

Just to warn you, Rock Band turns off anti-aliasing when upscaled to 480p. Most games look better in the higher resolution, but for this little oddball you'd be better off sticking at 480i.

Thanks for the replies. I will probably get the component cable for it. I do my RBing on the PS3. The Wii is for the kiddos. Oh, I'm sure I'll be playing it too though. :D

Get the Wii component cable. It should come standard, and should only run you about $20 used from a store like GameStop. It will at least provide you with a 16:9 picture. (And no, it doesn't look all stretched out, but certainly does not look as crisp as true HD.)

If you have an A/V receiver, you can input the Wii component cable to it, and then connect the TV with an HDMI cable to the receiver.

i still think he should just still play on ps3 with his kids, why waist a hundred dollars just to play on a wii, its not like it's gonna be more child friendly

If you want Wii component cables, get them from Monoprice. I got some there, $6 and they work great!

I am in no way affiliated with them.
