I'm very pleased with how fast the process is of getting new gear...but they sent me a drum set with the exact same problem as the one the game came with. The red and yellow drum pads have terrible response time. I cannot do fast rolls. On the other pads I can.

What the hell >_<

Change that to "EA sent me another messed up drum set" and you're on the ball.
Harmonix developed the game, EA handles the replacements/peripherals. If Harmonix was in charge of that as well I don't think we'd be seeing any DLC lol.

I Just played my drums yesterday, and the longest streak was 19, all the pads except the blue lag or dont register, and i'm on my second guitar and it's as bad as the first one:mad:

EA/HMX whoever...it's still ridiculous. Now I'm going to have to send off for another one.

I had the same issue with my replacement. My original kit did rolls wonderfully BUT I'd have missed hits periodically. Sent off for a replacement and the new one registered every hit wonderfully EXCEPT for rolls. So, I set up Train Kept on Rolling on practice mode, picked the drum roll and hit only a max 41% of the notes (a song I'd easily beaten before) on numerous tests. I tried putting some tape on the red kit (to reduce vibrations) and did the same tests and this time scored 91% consistently.

For now, I'd suggest trying the tape method.

My original drums rolled just fine but there were times where I felt like I was hitting a note spot on but it didn't register. Then my yellow drum pad broke and I had to send away for a replacement.

The replacement drums arrived today and I eagerly hooked them up. As I'm playing a song, everything feels great - until I hit a freeplay roll section. When I try to do fast rolls on any of the pads, only every other note or so will register and I'm unable to do fast drum rolls. However, once the free roll is done, the songs play great again. Even on Expert when I have a lot of notes, they play fine except for the rolls within free play (star power). Go figure.

On the other hand, I've been able to increase the percentages in many songs with these new drums simply because I don't get that some random note doesn't register problem. So i guess this is actually better because I can be more accurate but I just can't get quite as many points during the star power because I can't hit as many notes.

(scratching my head over this one)

You won't be able to pass certain songs on expert with the roll problem. Try taping the red drum down as described in other threads (worked great for me).

edit: btw, you get NO ADDITIONAL points for how many times you hit notes during an overdrive fill. ONLY big rock endings score additional points.
