Please remember that not everyone who plays your game is 14 and PLEASE do not go the GH3 route of saturating your DLC with obscure emo/punk/indie crap.

More Maiden, Kiss, Who, etc would go over as well or better than what's been showing up the last few weeks. Please don't forget the Megadeths, the Judas Priests, the Scorpions, the Zeppelins, the Van Halens, the Yes, the Floyd, the Def Leppard...the classic rock/metal out there.

That is all. And have a merry Christmas everyone.

They released one day of modern rock and you people think that Rock Band is going downhill or something. Come on HMX isn't going to cater to just classic rock and metalheads out there. Some people actually like the bands they're releasing today. I'd be glad to see some more punk and indie music in RB. Get over it, it's not the end of the world.

They've released plenty of metal. There's a Metallica pack and a Black Sabbath Pack. They're eventually going to release a whole Who and Metallica album, plus 18 Grateful Dead songs. They have Radiohead, QotSA, David Bowie, The Police, and Wolfmother which aren't emo bands as well.

Yet another horrible first post by a new member. Tsk tsk tsk.
Please remember that not everyone is not as closed-minded as you. Also try to remember that the universe does not center around you and that there are OTHER PEOPLE in this world you inhabit. Merry Christmas.

Nice, Cuddie. I suppose I should consider your reply "yet another horrible post in your history" or something like that?

The Metallica pack is great, as is the Sabbath and Police pack. But today's release, along with most of last week's...not so much. And perhaps the both of you should consider that YOUR taste in music isn't all that exists out there either. "Modern" music? Ya know, there's a reason people pirate music these days instead of buying it outright. Its not worth the money.

You went through my post history? I'm flattered.

Did you ever consider that I like the music you like as well? Or are you so arrogant that you insist everyone who likes "modern" music cannot possibly like older music? I do acknowledge that my music taste is not the only one out there. That's why I don't go on forums complaining about how Harmonix "ARE RELESES TEH MOST SUXORS MUSIC EVAR!!1!1".
It's cool that you don't like modern bands. I really couldn't care as it's you that's missing out on great music. But you have to realize there are a lot of people who DO like modern bands. I seriously don't get self-centered intolerant people like you.

BS you suck

THEY HAVE ENOUGH OLD TIMER CRAP! >:O Don't tell them to exclude new stuff like that you douchebag

I don't care if they keep adding old music as DLC as long as they keep balancing it out by adding stuff like they just added today

And maybe.... 5% or less of rock bands players are 30+

Most of us ARE 12-25ish range

And if you think just cause your 40 or some crap means you should hate new music you need to stop smokin crack

first off.. Maiden are gods. Second off, Metallica are pioneers. Third off Sabbath rocks. Fourth off.. did I say Maiden are gods?

That being said...

You don't have to "like" a song to appreciate the musicianship. I can't stand that ******ed ass (my OPINION) Outlaws song. GGaHT is a pathetic example of souther rock (IN MY PERSONAL OPINION) but I think it's an amazing piece of music and the musicians are all very talented.

I don't particularly care for Fall Out Boy, but it's fun to hear my wife sing it and I love the drum part.

I LOVE The Beastie Boys. Sabotage has always been one of my favorite songs.. but I despise playing that song in Rock Band on any instrument/vocals.

It's one thing to agree to disagree, but it's funny to me how people think that it's cool to hate pop music.

Santana, Kiss, and the Beatles are all examples of "mainstream" musicians/bands that made music by design to sell records. They are also three of the most cited musical influences to any of your "favorite REAL rock bands"

Sorry to say it.. but I'll take a band like 30 Seconds To Mars who continue to make thier fans happy over a band like Metallica who lose sight of what got them where they are. (not interested in a Metallica debate, I actually prefer thier new music... but then again I don't like semi-hardcore anyway)

I'm not all about dog-piling a noob...wait, yeah I am!

But really, I am in the 40 something crowd. I can think of and have suggested MANY songs in every decade represented in this game(I could again if you like...ok ok, i'll stop).

I don't like EVERYTHING they have on the DLC(i didn't dl any of the Bowie stuff but that’s my right), BUT I have downloaded almost everything else and will be getting the stuff coming out today.

The thing i thinks funny is when people try to TELL HMX to stop/not add(ing) this song or another...more is always better. Who knows, you may wakeup some morning and not have anything in the DLC that you want to buy, oh well. Next week you may get all the new ones...that’s life.

Its far better to go and suggest(use the suggest a song link) in the forums and what not...don't try to play "THE music censor gawd" or tell others what they SHOULD like based on the little microcosm YOU live in.

Nice job :D

and yeah most "Emo" and related bands usually do have good drummers and good singers only a few really do have terrible and boring guitarists

And I mean really... if people wanna say anything with less than top calibur technical musicianship sucks... then they should buy every dream theater , Rush , and symphony X album ever made and just never listen to anything else ever again , OR they should just stfu :D

I think the 30+ numbers are quite a bit higher than that. not all 30+ players will visit these forums, most wouldn't know how or are too busy playing.

we have 5 people in this house that play pretty much daily with a wide age range. 37 down to 15. we as a group go over the DLC and see what any of us would like. the two dusty old farts (myself and the wife) are just as into the newer music as our kids. the kids like seeing older stuff from time to time.

we are not music snobs and we didn't raise our kids to be.

Why does it matter if you don't have to get them anyway?
