Wow, just wow.

IMDB Page : http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1133604/

Well, not much to say, and really not much info to share, other than Elijah Wood is voicing Spyro, and Gary Oldman is providing the voice of Ignitus.

Also, Kevin Michael Richardson is voicing Terrador, Corey Burton is voicing Volteer and Jeff Bennet is voicing Cyril.

Release Date : April 10, 2010

This sounds interesting . . .

It's been dead for quite some time.

Is it not OK to clarify?

I wonder why there isn't a trailer yet. April 10th is not very far.

The franchise died after the original trilogy, IMO.

Yeah, I stopped playing after Year Of The Dragon.

I might see this. I really liked the first 3 games, but I never really caught onto the other games. I hope that it will be focused on those three instead of the rest.

Who knows, maybe they'll make a new adventure, and not make it about the trilogy?

Since it has "The Legend Of" in the title, it will probably suck.

I was a big fan when I first got a PS1 when I was in Kindergarten back in 1999. I'm pretty sure Spyro has been dead to me since about then. This is a terrible idea.

Wow~ I never thought I'd see a Spyro movie. I'll consider seeing it, gotta see a trailer/footage first though~

The original game is a classic. I'm glad I still have it. Never did play any of the other games though.

Year Of The Dragon was probably the best Spyro game in my opinion. :)

It died after the 1st one (which I just recently replayed) none of them even come close to matching up

not sure how it'll translate into a movie, probably gonna pirate it if it peaks enough interest

same. I cant imagine it being a good movie though. If the trailer is painful to sit through I probably wont see it. Otherwise chances are good.

I didn't look at the IMBd page, but I'm taking a wild guess here.

Uwe Boll?

I loved those games (as well as the Crash Bandicoot ones) like the electronic brothers I never had when I was a young PS1 playing child.
Too bad the franchise is horrible now.

Anyway, yeah, NEVER SEEING THIS.

Also, Uwe Boll has nothing to do with this apparently. I'm shocked.

Doesn't Uwe Boll only murder 'mature' games, anyway?

Necro Post? Maybe.

But as a fan of the games, especially the latest ones, I feel I have to post this.

http://darkspyro.net/news/28705/

The movie has apparantly been cancelled.

I'm disappointed. I thought the story, while basic, could have been well represented with some really neat visuals and voiceovers in film format.

It always sucks to see something that could have had decent effort behind it not even open...while Uwe Boll constantly gets his schlock shown. I'm not really surprised though...admittedly, it would be tough to pitch a video game movie that's not super relevant, or has can be made "realistic".

I always wondered why films like Far Cry and Alone In The Dark were made. Neither series really lit the world on fire, and the movies were abysmal (Uwe Boll of course).

It would have been neat to see some family friendly videogame movies.
All we have that I can think of is...

Pokemon.

Was that Mario movie PG-13?

I don't know about the Mario movie, but it's not like it was SUPER accurate to the game. Haha, it was probably more of a bastardization than the Uwe Boll movies.

It's tough to decide which director I dislike more;

Uwe Boll or Ulli Lommel.

Lommel directs terrible horror films. They don't even have the "so bad it's hilarious" thing going for them that some of Boll's work has, they are just terrible. It disappoints me how a genre that can be so riveting is often so poorly done.

The alleged director (Mark Dippe) for the Spyro film isn't that great either, at least as a director. Or maybe he is, and his movies thus far aren't good representations of his work. Who knows. Anyways, he did the full CG Garfield movies that play frequently on Cartoon Network, along with the unfortunately titled "Frankenfish", and a number of Disney Channel original movies.

I can't speak much for the Disney Channel or Frankenfish movie, but his CG offerings (what Spyro would have been) were very flat. Not bad, but certainly not good. A step below average, I think.

Activision (company behind the cancellation) said they cancelled because they were "moving in a different direction". So, despite his limited fanbase, I hope the movie gets another shot.
