okay well i got rock band for christmas and have been playing it nonstop, absolutly love it. when i first opened it up i noticed something weird with the drums pads there was a seperation between the top part and the bottom base of each pad. on one of the pads you could even see the wiring inside the pad. needless to say i was worried, but after playing almost 15 hours i havent had a single issue with the performance of the drums, so im wondering if this is how the drums are or if mine are broken. honestly even if they are not supposed to be like this i doubt ill send it back, at least as long as they keep on working. thanks for the help, and sorry i cant post a picture.

There is supposed to be a gap between the rubberized circular top and the base below it. It is there to absorb the shock of hits.

If you gently take the palm of your hand and press down on a pad, you should see how the top of the pad sinks into the bottom if you look from the side. It then springs back up when you release the pressure. That's how it is supposed to function.

You mentioned the set is working, which is the main thing, so it sounds like you're okay. If anything should go disasterously wrong, the support program is usually pretty good in taking care of people.
