Saving band memeber with drums?

Hello everyone, i just recieved this game for christmas. I absolutley love it, its awesome. anyways, How do you save one of your band members if your the drummer. I have not figured it out and my brother cant get one of these guitar parts on one of the songs and so he fails, and then it leaves me the drummer. but i cant figure out how to save him. thanks, Andy

Saving someone just means triggering Overdrive.

To do it on the drums, the gauge at the base of your drum track--the gold one--has to be at least half full (it will glow slightly when it is). If you have enough energy, at certain points in the song, you will see four colored "lanes" that allow you to create your own drum fill. After you've hit a few pads, a green target will appear at the end of the green lane. Make sure you hit that one--it's a cymbal crash--and your Overdrive will trigger, saving your band mate.
