yellow pad - hi-hat?

hey guys!

My yellow pad of the Drum-kit sounds like a hi-hat at the drum fills..
but in all the videos on the internet, the yellow pad of the drums sounds like a tom-tom..

so i wanted to ask if there is any way to make it sound like that too?
or.. why does it even sound different than others?

You need to be more specific. On Rock band 2 and LRB some colours can be a cymbal and a tom.
You must be using a guitar hero or band hero drum set. But on a Rock band 1, 2 and ION drum set make Tom sounds for Yellow. On the latter 2 you can use cymbals to make a cymbal sound and use a pad to make a tom sound.
