Downloaded songs stuck to xbox?

First off, Merry Christmas everyone.

Now I recently bought a bunch of songs off the marketplace for rock band.
But it seems I can only play them on the xbox that I bought them on?
I have two xbox360’s, one in my room with a small lousy TV (but an internet connection) and one in my basement with a much much larger HD tv (with no internet connection.) So what I usually do is download stuff on the one upstairs and then just grab the HDD and go downstairs. But, I noticed with the rockband songs, It lets me play downloaded songs on the xbox upstairs (the one I bought it on) but when I go downstairs (with the same HDD) the game doesn’t even search for downloaded content? So is the music I bought suck on the xbox in my room? That would be quite Lame.

This is the XBL content protection for all paid downloads. To play, you must either:

1) Play on the same xbox and memory device that purchased the content.
2) Log into the same gamertag that purchased the content and be connected to the internet.

Hope you find a way to use your DLC.

I have my profile on a memory unit; I just need to be connected to the internet? Would it have to be constant? Or is just a log on and off enough?

You can access your DLC from a different xbox only while you are connected to the internet. If you are disconnected, you will no longer be able to access your DLC.

Same thing happened to me. I will also try this to see if it resolves the problem. Sort of sucks because I bought the content while at my cousins house, so... BOO.
