So at drums, you have the kick pedal. And sometimes, they throw at you two pretty damn fast kick pedal notes on expert in songs such as Ride the Lightning or Tom Sawyer. My leg is obviously not fast enough to do two of them.
Am I really slow or it's humanly normal to not being able to do them?

Pretty sure notes like that are just luck hits if you get them. Like the one section of And Justice For All...

They're perfectly possible... the double ones are really easy, there's a window so you can actually hit the first one a little early and the second a little late... and if you haven't figured it out yet, keeping the pedal to the floor and then lifting it just for the note helps with your speed... and you don't actually have to move the pedal very far for it to register.

yeah im pretty sure its impossible to hit some of them. There is one part on expert in N.I.B. where I swear to god you just cannot hit those notes. The lines have like just enough space in between them so that you cant tell their seperated.
Thats why you have to get another pedal so that you can double bass all of those quick parts.

Hum I should try them in practice instead and repeat them until I get them. Worth a try..

I don't get how EA/Harmonix expects us to get the kick notes on expert and NOT break the pedal. After an epic online setlist of, what else, Epic, Welcome Home, and Tom Sawyer mine cracked. So, gonna make a real one now. :)

That depends on your style of playing. I'm pretty gentle with mine and it's still in perfect condition but I've noticed a lot of other people (usually non-drummers) really pound on that sucker.

I've been playing the drums on Hard and Expert since I got the game (a month ago) and my kick pedal isn't cracked or broken in any way.
And yes, it's physically possible to hit those notes. If you're not a drummer, it'll take a lot of practice, but I can personally attest that it CAN be done, and without any double kick pedal hack job.

It's still pretty much a gaurantee that your pedal will break, it has little to do with people playing too hard, mine broke and i was barely even hitting it.

I thought I was pretty gentle with mine. When yours breaks (it will, if not outright it'll get cracked) you'll know what im talking about.

I thought I was lucky since my kick pedal hadn't broken yet, but upon inspection I have about 8 seperate very large cracks across all parts of the pedal and one even on the base. I'm not really rough with it, but I do play quite often...I really want someone to post a good step by step process for modding a real kick pedal.

The thing about these notes is that it's a skill that real drummers have to learn. It's tough stuff! I don't assume anyone can see two quick notes in a row and naturally have the right motion with his or her foot to play it on their first try. It takes a while, and practice is definitely involved. Hence calling it "Expert" difficulty :P

ok i play the actual drum set and i know tht those notes are stupid. i can hit any kind of rudimentary crap...but this bass drum just makes me mad i have to play on hard cuz expert makes up stupid bass notes combined with the stupid plastic pedal. it is the game

Yeah my youth pastor could nail those easily. He's our drummer and he can double- triple- and on good days quadruple- kick the bass drum. I'm not sure exactly how he does it, but it is phisically possible, otherwise the actuall drummers would never be able to play the song live ^.^

Definitely tough. I would recommend using your toe and keep it very close to the front end of the pedal. That should give you the kind of leverage you need. I agree it is a bit unfair since in most instances the drummer (example: Neil Peart in Tom Sawyer) uses a double bass for those quick fills, but I still think its doable. Not saying I'm any expert at it! ;).

Exactly. By combining the thigh and ankle, you can do multiple hits with less motion of individual muscles. I can't explain it, but look for it on YouTube.

Yeah it looks like he's just moving his foot forward, but his ankle kind of twitches, and then it's "Ba-da-dum!" Triple-kick.

toe heal is what i do especially when you're all worked up or anxious and plastic sadder will clear up cracks but you might want to get a normal pedal twist the hammer till it can hit a metal pad and put a copper wire connected to a battery on the hammer and connect the pedal cable to the metal pad it should work but i haven't tried it yet its the basic principle at least if some trys it tell me if it works but i just use plastic sodder

Read what you wrote there. You can play "rudimentary crap". The top level of difficulty in RB isn't called "rudimentary", now is it? It's called "Expert" for a reason!
The game does not add any extra kick drum hits that are not in the original drum track of the song. This isn't GH3, where they just added extra crap to make it more difficult ;)
Hitting double and triple hits with one pedal is something that took me years to perfect. It's what makes me very happy that my first drum teacher told me NOT to get double pedals until I'd been playing for at least 4-5 years. And I'm damn glad I listened to that advice.
Even when you're using double pedals, if you're gonna play a quick triplet, it's R-L-R, which is a quick double hit with your right foot.

There are no bass parts in RB that are physically impossible to play on a single pedal. Sorry, you just need to practice more. You're not going to get good enough to do them perfectly in a few days, drumming takes practice and muscle training. :)

Of course its possible, if not simple. But doing it consistently without breaking your pedal is another thing

Yea you are right on this.. I got strange feelings with my leg. First day it hurted bad. Next few days it was getting fatigued very fast. Now I'm fine and can play longer. But damn when you play on expert, sometimes your leg doesn't want to follow you anymore.
Well I'm still trying to get those very fast 2 quick notes. I really miss them in Ride The Lightning when they start to appear in the middle and at the end. I get 96% in this song because I miss them lol.

on a real drum set, to get those really fast notes, you would either:
heel-toe if you had one pedal
or
double-bass if you had two
the heel toe option here is completely useless, there is nothing the pedal is bouncing off of and whoever thought of putting that ginormic spring in the pedal is an absolute dumbass.

... I do them just fine, and I play flat footed... since my foot surgery I've been unable to pop my heel correctly to play with my toe.

right. I'm yet to meet a pedal that needs to be heel-toed just to get a fast double. triple? sure. long stream of fast bass? sure, use a double bass pedal, it'll save you getting arthritis in your ankle. but just doubles? no.

This is just completely wrong if you are refering to the the "fast notes" in RB. There are no note combinations in RB that would require a double pedal or heel-toe technique. All the RB beats can be handled with Heel Up or Down positioning, though certainly easier Heal Up. there are very few drummers who use Heel-Toe technique and though it is the fastest technique, by a experienced player, it's certainly not the only way to lay fast kick beats.
