Does Rockband guitar work for Guitar Hero 3 came?

I just received GH3 and RB for x-mas. I tried to use the guitar from the RB game on GH3 and it doesn't work right. Does anyone know if and how this is suppose to work.

Depends on your system. With this 360, this works fine. With the PS3 however it doesn't, Harmonix has a patch to allow the GH3 PS3 controller to work on RB for the PS3, but Activision pressured Sony to not allow the patch.

Activision wants to be paid in order to have the patch go through.

I have a 360 but still not working.When I hit the colors they are the wrong ones on the game.How do I fix this.

Zander posted the reverse of what is actually true, I think he was confused about your original question.

The guitar from GH3 will work on RB, on the X360.

The guitar from RB will NOT work on GH3.

There is no way to "fix" this.

Yeah, sorry. I read it as a RB centric question and on a re-read I see he was actually asking about GH3.

My guess is Activision will never support any guitar but their own? Why? Greed of course.

GH3 says right in their intro -- ONLY LICENSED GUITAR HERO CONTROLLERS WORK WITH THIS GAME (something like that).
