Non DLC = Run to the Hills

I four or five-starred Run To The Hills, but I can't for the life of me get past 3 stars on Dead On Arrival. It's the only one I can't get 4 or more stars on.
I'd say that was the hardest drum song.

This is going to be subjective, but these are the hardest non-DLC tracks for me (no particular order):
Dead On Arrival
Next to You
Don't Fear the Reaper (guitar solo and ending)
Run to the Hills

I'd say Run For The Hills on Hard.
On Expert, definitely either Run For The Hills (endurance) or Won't Get Fooled Again. The bass drum + insane fills at the same time = insanity.
Expert Don't Fear the Reaper still gives me trouble on the drum roll + bass part near the middle. For the love of Jeebus, why can't I stay on beat??!

Won't Get Fooled Again.

Won't Get Fooled Again.
This one actually isn't too hard. I still can't even beat Don't Fear the Reaper (lose @ end) or Run to the Hills on expert and I was able to beat this without much problem.

I'd agree with most of the above sentiment.
At this point I have only Run to the Hills on Hard left to beat all of Hard. Even knowing the exact pattern and practicing it, the speed is killing me on my muscle memory at the moment. I 5 starred the medium ages ago, I just need more practice :(.
Don't Fear the Reaper and Next to You both held me up a little too, but agree that Won't Get Fooled Again wasn't an issue, 3 or 4 starred it first run through on Hard.

Whats the harrdest song?
on this game i couldn't say but i will ask anyone to play ruin by lamb of god(go chris adler) with single pedal if you can video tape it cuz i've only seen one person do it and he even admits that it was complete luck that he could do it that one time that is probably the hardest song i have ever played in my life (atleast the hardest song any of you'll have heard off although one of my friends songs he made is definitely harder

First song in the game that I've actually died on at all is Don't Fear The Reaper. I know in theory how to at least get through the damn roll parts (just make sure you keep at least the bass on beat) but can't quite make it (tried three times so far). I think I'd do a lot better with hyperspeed, my brain finds it hard to process rolls at RB's stupidly slow scroll speed and I start playing too fast. Sigh.

you know, I think that's a lot of my issue too... I'm playing too fast, it just feels too unnaturally slow on the rolls to me..

Blackened might be the hardest one of all songs available, but i could be wrong. I dont have all the DLC and i havent beaten expert yet to say for sure.

"Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who is killing me because of the uniqueness of the Keith Moon drum fills. In the majority of the RB songs, there are like 4-10 common drum fills that most drums resort to but man, I really the utmost respect for Mr. Moon now now that I've had to 'imitate' him. It's this song that's preventing me to moving onto Expert drums exclusively!
"Don't Fear the Reaper" is easy once you break down the midsection which has predictable parts even though it's fairly fast single stroke rolls...once you past this section you're pretty much home free.

conner: as I said, I know what the rolls are, I just miss them in the song . As I said I've only tried it three times, I'll get it with a bit more practice. On DM I'd be able to sightread it no problem, though, just because I'm more used to the chart layout and my preferred scroll speed.

Don't Fear the Reaper is difficult, but can be mastered with a little time at 60 or 70 percent in Practice mode.
Run For the Hills is damn near impossible at the moment - still trying to work it out.
Won't Get Fooled Again is consistently bringing about my demise due to the complexity of the fills.
but I've had no problem with Dead On Arrival - maybe it's because I've covered it a few times IRL and practice drums to Fall Out Boy fairly routinely. (To any real-life drummers, Andy Hurley is good to imitate for a cardio workout slash drum practice.)

What is there to 'work out' in RttH? I've seen it on YouTube, it's just a fairly fast, very regular hi-hat and snare pattern.

The only song I can't beat on expert is Blackened so I'll go with Blackened. Although I still have infinite problems with Dead on Arrival (which oddly enough isn't even in the last tier). Other songs are tough (Don't fear the reaper, Won't get fooled again, that police song, run to the hills) but the above 2 in my option are tougher.

i dont know about expert but run to the hills is so hard on hard. expert is more of just a roll but on hard its a weird beat.

Blackened on expert on those fast parts is simply crazy. You have fast arms to do and a non-constant beat with the foot.. oh god.
Next to you.. The Reaper.. Run to the hills... All crazy songs I cannot do right now, I never played drums before and I'm really not good with drum rolls, I need practice in this.
Any advice for drum rolls?

wanny1: don't hit too hard, and unless the chart has a non-regular bass pattern during the roll, keep time with your foot. If the chart has a regular bass pattern during the roll, fine. If not, just take your foot off the pedal, put it on the floor and do it. And don't feel silly, either, many real drummers do this, including some *really good* ones. It's a hell of a lot easier to keep the roll regular if you keep time with your foot.

I agree, Blackened is nuts, but I enjoy the song so much I cant help but to play it over and over, I want to get this one down so bad.

I've got some sort of mental issue with Foreplay/Long Time (on hard). Right at the start, where you hit the crash and bass pedal on the beat with the bass guitar, with the snare just before the beat. For some stupid reason, I cannot for the life of me keep the bass pedal and crash on the beat -- even if I skip the snare altogether!
I'm not a drummer and I know I'm not particularly good, but I ought to be able to do this, especially considering the other difficult songs I've completed (if not mastered). But I've tried it dozens of times, and the same result each time. I can do it slowed down, but at normal speed I just can't stay on beat. I feel like such a spaz. Sigh.
I doubt anyone can say anything to help, but if anyone else has experienced this and overcome it, that would be encouraging. :o

Won't Get Fooled Again, simply because of the kickpedal-drum timing.

something i learned to do when i'm trying to make up new music on the drum is put a metronome ear piece in my ear cuz with the music i play the bass line is one of the most important parts of the drumming don't know if that will help in this case

thats why drummers (or atleast me) admire jazz drummers becuase although they're not that technical they are extraordinarily difficult to play due to all the notes that are just slightly off beat
and no there is no easy way to learn how to do it
practice makes permanent so make sure you practice it as close to right as possible

Doesn't difficulty due to lots of notes slightly off beat = technical?

This intro bothered me for a while but I've mastered it now. The main thing to keep in mind is that the rhythm you play on the blue pad with and bass pedal at the beginning is the exact same rhythm as the red green combos. the whole intro is the same rhythm. Ignore the fills and just focus of hitting the bass pedal beats in those parts.

yeah. not to mention the insane ride rhythms jazz drumming often uses. jazz songs in DrumMania kick my ass sideways.

My definition of technical is see how fast you can get the next hit in slightly off beat i guess is technical but its musically technical not physically technical and yes jazz F***ing hard to play so it can be aggravating when your trying to learn a new song but its sooo much fun. Metal is just a different technical then jazz atleast in my mind

IMO metal is not nearly as technical as jazz it is just faster. Fast does not equal technical.

That's the trick, isn't it?! I won't give up, though. At least not yet.
