Powered USB hub needed for Wii TB:RB Special Value Edition?

I bought the Rock Band Beatles Special Value Edition for Wii as a gift and I want to make sure we have everything we need so we can tear into it on Christmas Day. At least one review on Amazon mentioned needing a powered USB hub but reading through this forum it seems maybe that person was referring to the Xbox version? Doesn't the set come with a USB hub? Is this enough or does it also require a power source?

We just have the basic Wii system and Wiimotes--no other peripherals, dongles or hubs.

(I know the Rock Band 2 instruments are better, but it's sold out everywhere around here. I'm just happy to have the Special Value Edition now that it's nearly sold out in my local stores, too!)

Technically no you shouldn't need a powered usb hub. Some systems, notably the Wii, seem to have usb power issues. This is by no means all Wii's btw. A powered hub can remedy that situation, if it exists for you.
