So I just got Rock Band for Christmas, and everything works fine (I originally thought the mic wasn't working but a quick read of the 'microphone recognition' sticky fixed that) except for the USB hub. The hub for the 360 looks like this (excuse my awful ASCII art):
__0__+___==_
***********|
***********|
***********|
_==_==_==__|
The '0' is the power jack, the '+' is the USB cord that goes to the 360, and the '=='s are the USB ports.
Now, all the peripherals work fine when plugged directly into the 360, but when put through the USB hub, nothing works. You can't turn the console on from the peripherals, they aren't detected, etc. etc. It's as if they aren't plugged in at all.
Yes, I plugged in the power jack, and I also tried plugging in the USB hub itself both to the USB ports on the front AND the back of the 360. Am I doing something basically wrong, or am I exiled to EA's replacement parts program?

Sounds like you got a faulty USB hub. Call in and get a replacement.
Weird though, the one I got had all 4 ports across the front, not 3 on the front and 1 on the back like yours...
