Hey guys, got my copy and all instruments of rock band today. It is truely a great game and has been flawless so far. One question though, why doesn't my mic work when plugged into the drums or guitar through the headset adaptor? Sorry if this was posted somewhere else, but I checked the faq's, posts, etc. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

There's a headset adapter on the guitar?

No bro, the headset adaptor is what you plug into one side of your mic, and then to the drums or guitar. Only thing is, the headset acts like it is muted because I can't talk to people, but I can hear people out of my tv. I don't know what to do :(.

I'm having the same problem. I believe it is the adapter. I tried it with the drums and the guitar and couldn't hear or talk to anybody (but I could hear them from the TV). Then I used the X-Plorer GH3 Guitar that allows the headset to plug in directly and could hear them and talk. I can't seem to find a 100% answer. It does kinda suck that I am unable to chat with people.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. In addition, when I plugged in the headset mic with adapter to my drums or guitar, my friend reported hearing an echo on HIS side when he tried to talk to me.

I am as well. I look at the adapter and think they need to make the connection stronger. >_> till then looks like you have to use the Xbox 260 controllers to talk to people :/
or in other cases... use a cell phone haha xD

ist kinda stupid but easy to fix this just shave down the inside edge of the 2 plastic prongs on your xbox headset then the adapter will fit to the headset and it should work fine thats what i did for mine

I had the same problem. I took my WHOLE Rock Band Special Edition back for a new one.....got it home....plugged in the headset adapter and I got the same freakin' thing happening.
Diagnosis: I can't talk to people or hear them through my headset, but when I unplug my headset I can hear them through my TV. So....the headset adapter is messed up again. These things suck so bad like those weak-ass USB hubs they package in.
