Im getting the same problem and i would also like to know why. Im beginning to think its a port problem, which frustrates me cuz the people i wish to play with are not to handy with computers and cannot port forward.

Add me to the list... I have the same issue. If my friend sends me the invite, I get the can't connect error message. Likewise, if I send my friend the invite, he gets the can't connect error message. We are interested if anyone else has found a fix for this.

BTW: This is a great forum. Thanks to all you regular posters!

Wait...seriously? I haven't had a single problem inviting/or accepting invites from my friends. I was surprised to see more than one person with this problem.

my problem is i can invite my friend A, and we can play and i can invite my friend B, and we can play. But. if i ever try to invite A and then B, the second person can't join.

Anyone know the port i need to foward? I'm pretty sure it is a router problem.

i think it has something to do with the ports or the nat types...

I'm almost positive that that is the problem. Any idea how to fix it?

I also have this problem - my friend and I can invite each other, but not connect.... agree it seems to be a router configuration error.... can anyone whose setup works with PS3 please post their router settings?

thanks

I found this info here:
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/settings/connecttest.html

The port numbers for PLAYSTATION®Network servers used for this are TCP: 80, 443, 5223 and UDP: 3478, 3479.

For voice / video chat and online game play, direct communication with other PS3™ systems is used for data transmission during voice / video chat and online gaming. The port number used for this is UDP: 3658. However, you may need to use a different port number when you are connected using a NAT router.

My friend and I both enabled DMZ on our routers. Invitations were than able to be accepted.

Thanks for your help. These issues I imagine are almost certainly related to router/NAT type. I will talk with our team to see if we have any additional options - you may wish to get in touch with your router's manufacturer, or upgrade routers at some point. If you're savvy enough, try using a friend's and see if that might be the issue.

this can be solves by going to your router website and enabling DMZ type in the ip of ur ps3 which can be found in network status. then if it still don't work that means the other person has to open up DMZ......in order for invites to work and connect you have to have DMZ enabled....unless if 2 people who have DMZ not enabled then it will work for them. My advice...ENable DMZ
