Forget playing with my awesome Xbox 360 GH2 controller I've had for 6 months that works perfectly well! The Rock Band guitar is way more exciting, because you never know when your strums will actually work!

Oh, and the drums. Boy oh boy, are they exciting. Everything works fine, but the green and red drums have about a 50% chance of completely ignoring me! Isn't that thrilling?

I like these elements of the game, they really do keep me on the edge of my seat. Keep up the amazing testing of your equipment Harmonix, it certainly is up to par!

Um, it's called practice. RB requires FAR more accuracy than GH thus making it far tougher.

Epic fail. Sarcasm is great when applied subtley, but a post like this, especially with a name like "D4niels_a_b34st" crashes and burns. Btw, it's EA that manufactures the peripherals, not Harmonix.

Yeah a lot of my friends played the drums before I got to them, and they complained that they didn't work properly. When I switched out with them, they said that the guitar wasn't working (which was, of course, the first thing they blame when they fail, though they suck). Both peripherals work perfectly for me. You've just got to listen and hear the beat, and make sure you don't have even the slightest lag. Even a couple of beats off will totally screw up your game.

This.

Perhaps you could be productive and get replacement periphs from EA, instead of whining on a forum?

With the amount of replacements people are getting, almost at least one for every person that buys it, I would agree with this guy.

When I played I didn't try the strat guitar, felt flimsy anyway, but I did try the drums. I won't say they were faulty at times, but sometimes I KNOW I hit a note and it didn't count, even easy notes wouldn't hit sometimes. It could've been me since it was my first and only time playing, but it could very well have been the euipment as well.

Well I'm sure we all know that this is a GH3 fanboi who is used to the HUGE windows to hit notes. Practice son.

Yes, the peripherals included with this game are crapily made. Not many people at this forum seem to have experienced any problems yet or are too defensive about this game (yes, yes, it's good, better than GH3 by far) and can find no flaws.

LOL at practice. Hard to practice with a faulty stum bar and faulty drum kit.

You could do the replacement for the guitar but the strummer will end up becoming non-responsive. Stick w/ your X-Plorer. Great controller.

Just keep trying and replacing with the drums until you finally get a good one. With all this ****, has this game even made profit?

Wow, if there's any one thing you've said in your posts that gives you away as a blatant n00b, this would be it.

You weren't here in the two weeks following launch, when all of us who were experiencing issues with the peripherals were making a whole lot of noise.

Why are we quiet now? Because, for most of us, the problems were fixed. EA stepped up and made it possible for us to get these things taken care of almost painlessly, and when they fell down on the job around Thanksgiving, they compensated those of us who suffered a long wait by giving us a free--and rather current--game.

People are defending this game because, when you've got the flaws straightened out, Guitar Hero can't even hold a candle to it. And since the flaws have been straightened out for me--thanks in large part to diligent efforts by EA and Harmonix--I'm completely thrilled with what I have and will defend it with every post I make...even when I'm critiquing the few things I would like to see changed.

But on the other hand, I have a GH3 Les Paul gathering dust--or waiting to be traded in--because I'm still waiting for someone to tell me that Activision has stopped blocking Sony from releasing the Rock Band patch or that, God forbid, Guitar Hero III itself has been patched and works well enough on the PS3 that it's worth booting it up again.

We traded our PS3 copy of GH3 in because it was unplayable.

Well, from reading these posts, most of these people are talking as though there was never a problem and it doesn't exist. As you can tell I recently began posting here, I haven't been around long, but I usually am over at ScoreHero (and had the same type of complaints coming through (and me posting)). Read the posts in this thread and the conclusion I came to seems justified.

The OP just got this game and is having trouble with his guitar and drum peripherals (Hey, I did/do too)

"Well I'm sure we all know that this is a GH3 fanboi who is used to the HUGE windows to hit notes. Practice son."

"Um, it's called practice. RB requires FAR more accuracy than GH thus making it far tougher."

I know it's well known that there are problems and there is really no need to post further on the subject, but seriously, read those... What other conclusion could I have come to?

Also, these problems still aren't fully fixed. People are still buying the game and these peripherals are still faulty. The replacement peripherals are the same exact thing as sold in stores and just as prone to becoming broken. The drum I sent in had nonresponsive red/green pads and the on I got back still had the red/green pads nonresponsive. The fender I got back I just stopped really using because I enjoyed playing with the Les Paul and X-Plorer better, not to mention the strummer would probably just stop working.

Whatever I don't know if I typed that out right but I'm tired.

Most of the responses in this thread are going after the guy for the sarcastic attitude he took. If you want to know what the problems are and want to see people responding sympathetically to them, go to the Tech Support section of the forum.

I know when I had my problem with the guitar controller--twice--I was pretty ticked off when I came back in here, and I posted an angry note. It got quickly shuffled to the Tech Support section and the people who responded to it were sympathetic.

Why?

Because I wasn't being an ass.

And that's what this comes down to: some people seeing that this guy needed to make an ass of himself over something that many of us have been through. So he got treated like he was an ass.

For myself, now that it's all over, problem-wise, I prefer the Strat, which is a good thing, because it's the only guitar controller that works on my version of the game. I didn't have the option of saying "I don't like this one as much" and swapping it for a controller I preferred.

Frankly, I'm glad I didn't have options, because while the Fender works differently from any of the prior guitar controllers, it just took a little getting used to.

I'm glad you finally got a good guitar Desired. I'm waiting for my fifth one. Hopefully that one will actually work well. Wish me luck!

And i think my red pad doesnt respond very well, but i still cant hit fast enough to make sure.
