Will there ever be DLC available to buy on a disk for people w/out internet hook up at homes? Or is it possible to take harddrive/profile and DL it from a friend's. My mom however is opposed to my 360 leaving the house...

You don't have any sort of internet access at home?
Couldn't you detatch your HDD, slap it on a friends, sign into your account and download? I don't know the specifics of how those 3fixmes work :P

I believe the downloadable content is just logged as your Xbox Live profile, so you could just bring the hard drive to a friends house and download it, as long as it's under your profile.

DLC is console specific... What that means is that you can download it to your HDD, but when you put it in your 360 it will only work while you're logged into XBOX Live... which won't work for you since you don't have it... you could take your box itself to a friend's house but you would need to download it on your profile, which means you'll have to have XBOX Live and a credit card. Then you would be able to use it on your box, but if it ever breaks then you're SOL.

DO NOT DO THIS. DLC is linked to the gamertag as well as to the console which purchased it. if you are signed off of XBL, you will not be able to access to the DLC on your home system!!!!!!

Wow, that's crappy. So if your net goes down for whatever reason you can't use any DLC?
What the hell is the reasoning behind that?

It's a side effect of microsoft trying to keep people from stealing DLC... since you can re-download your DLC while on your profile if it worked the other way you could download DLC to an HDD, keep that HDD offline and then recover your tag on another xbox and download the DLC again... effectively stealing a free copy of the DLC... it's really annoying, but it's also necessary.

Halo did it, why wouldn't they?

Just to clarify, if you download the content using your own console/hard disk drive, you don't need to be logged in to Live in order to play the DLC. You will only need to log in if you detach your hard drive and hook it up to a friend's console, or if something ever happened to your original console and you had to buy a new one (and therefore download all of your old DLC).

Odd, I only log in with my XBL gamertag to download songs. I never use my XBL gamertag to log in and play the game, and I can access all my downloaded songs with my non-XBL gamertag ...and I only plug the ethernet cable in when I'm downloading...I've had to do this for a while now when my router died.

well...I would gladly pay for a disk to be able to have extra songs..already paid for the whole game so would like to have the bonuses as well...
so if you buy a new bigger hard drive, it marries to the first system you add it to?

Yes. The console info is actually contained in the DVD drive... so as long as you transfer your info and are using the same DVD drive you're set...
There are also ways to transfer the info between DVD drives, but that requires some in depth know-how... Llama.com... and the voiding of a warranty or two ;)

Instead of pulling your HDD out, why not just *cough* take your whole console with you to a buddies?
You don't mess with warranty voiding or any other stuff. Just plug his 'net connection to your box, sign in, download, and take it home.
I would assume that would work just fine.
