Any way to skip a player in Band Quickplay?

So here is the scenario. We have all 4 instruments plugged in and on. We're at the screen right before everyone picks their difficulty level, where the guitarists pick which one they want to play (guitar or bass).

Joe Blow decides he needs to go take a poop, so he sets his guitar down and goes to the bathroom. Well the rest of us don't want to wait until he gets back to play, so we all are ready with our status saying Waiting, yet we can't go on because the 4th person is not there.

We unplugged his instrument, but then that brings up a screen and we basically have to go all the way back to the main menu and start from scratch, this time with 3 people and 3 instruments plugged in.

This is a royal pain in the ass. Is there any way to just skip a player while 4 instruments are plugged in if we only want 3 people to play a song? If not, there should be...

What I do is just not have that person have the instrument included. Just click the red button on the guitar when you go to pick intruments (Before the screen where you pick songs), then have the leader just start it with the 3 people with their characters selected with instruments.

It can be. Real rockers always take the opportunity to work on their air-drumming on that other throne. You gotta have it in you though.
