Need help with setup of game

Ok so every time I go to play with my friends i get stuck when it tells each player to join. For the mic is says press a to join. WHERE THE HELL IS THERE AN A BUTTON TO PUSH?!I have the mic directly plugged into my 360.:mad::confused:

It'll be the 'A button' on your 360 controller.

You have to have an Xbox 360 controller on too to select songs with the mic (Since it have no buttons on it). I believe when you start the game, a thing pops up saying to navigate with the mic, use a Xbox 360 controller.
